A warm welcome to Katie Taylor, who is from Southampton. She is doing a photography degree in Salisbury and is writing her dissertation on Lidos.
She writes:
"I first got interested in lidos about three years ago when my uncle told me that he goes swimming in the lido at Portsmouth. I went down to have a look at it and then wanted to find out more about other lidos. I love the look of them, the design, and am also interested in the people who use them. I think it's such a shame that so many have been closed. I think my favourite one, so far, is the Ilkley Lido because of the lovely views! "
