Description

lipids@yahoogroups.com

A discussion (mailing) list for those working in any lipid-related field (anyone who is analysing the 'lipidome' !). All messages are archived and viewable by anyone (though email addresses are protected) - to browse, click on Messages on the menu on the left hand side.

Below is a quick guide to some of the major links of interest, however a more extensive list can be found in the Bookmarks menu (to the left).

A simple explanation of dietary lipids can be found at HowStuffWorks.com which explains 'How Fats Work' at beginners' level.

For lipid analysis information visit the Cyberlipid website which is packed with protocols and references.

For the latest references on lipid research as well as some interesting articles on the analysis of FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Esters) and other lipid derivatives, visit the Lipid Analysis Unit in Dundee.

If you are also interested in plant lipids, the National Plant Lipid Cooperative host the NPLC-L mailing list.

Fans of phospholipids may benefit from the Phospholipids discussion at Jiscmail.

A wide variety of lipids can be bought from these companies (choose 'Commercial' then 'Companies').

Click the 'JOIN' button (top right) if you wish to join this mailing list.
