Postdoctoral Positions
Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately to study lipid-mediated
signaling processes in plant metabolism and stress responses.
Position one is to investigate phospholipase-mediated signaling processes.
The incumbent will characterize novel phospholipases, identify cellular
targets of lipid messengers, and determine physiological functions of
lipid-based signaling cascades. Candidates must have a strong background and
demonstrated ability in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.
Experience in plant stress physiology is a plus.
Position two is to participate in a multi-disciplinary project that uses
metabolomic approaches to study the dynamics and functions of membrane lipid
turnover and to identify the molecular and cellular machinery that generates
and regulates the membrane functions. In addition to having a solid
background in biochemistry and molecular biology, working experience in mass
spectrometry and lipid metabolism is desired.
Interested applicants should send curriculum vitae and arrange three letters
of reference to be sent to Dr. Xuemin Wang, Professor, Dept. of Biochemistry,
Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS 66506; email: wangs@...; phone:
(785) 532-6422; fax: (785) 532-7278.
