Re: [lipids] Deoxygenation of solvents and aq. solutions

Several device may be found to deoxygenate solvents.
The best for HPLC is to use an on line vacuum
instrument able to manage 4 lines of solvents. With
the help of a little low pressure pump, it can be
helpful for degassing any solvent in container. If you
want to use gas flushing (nitrogen or caron dioxide),
you can read the paper of Przybylski R et al. JAOCS
1988, 65/4, 629 which described experiments on the
effectiveness of gas flushing during the heating of
oil. Several parameters were tested and you can
transfer the results easily for solvents.
