I'd like to ask whether anyone has experience using a PVA-Sil column
to analyze for phosphatidylserine (PS) with an HPLC-ELSD system, or,
alternatively, knows of a better way.
I'm working principally on phosphatidylcholine and
phosphatidylserine. PC isn't a problem, but from what I've seen in
the literature (e.g. Deschamps et al., 2001) it seems like a reliable
method for PS that gives sharp peaks and reproducible results,
without eventually degrading the column, has yet to be worked out.
My work involves verification of the composition of PC/PS vesicles,
fabricated for use in blood coagulation studies. The vesicles serve
as a locus and initiator for coagulation in vitro.
