Where martingales (and possibly "etc."?!) would not be
allowed .....?? ;)
Just to clarify the performance classes - There has been a bit of discussion about terminology in Performance classes. this is just to clarify what goes...
... Do you mean when would martingales not be allowed? I remember having to take mine off for a class at a show once can't remember which. May have been a WHP...
At real shows martingales are not allowed in the show classes you mentioned. I think WH/WHP clases are okay. However, it doesn'tt matter for your show as you...
... Yeah I think they are allowed in riding club horse too. I used to have a mare that HAD to have one and we did a few classes - what they were totally...
I think the idea is that "show horses" (and ponies) should be as near perfection as possible, so that if they need to wear a martingale, boots, etc., then...

Go Marion! Generally, badly brought-on horses are taught to resist bad riders; well brought on and schoolded horses don't need gadget such as martingales!...
It can't cure conformation points (although it can improve a way of going), but a ewe neck in a ridden horse is usually caused by bad riding! Suna ... From:...
I agree some hroses are made ewe-necked by bad riding, but I am sure some poor creatures are born that way; in which case good riding might help, but won't...

A ewe neck is caused by overdevelopment of the muscle on the underside of the neck and underdevelopment of the topside. Usually accompanied by a hollow back,...
Lee Pearson competes in able bodied classes as well as disabled. I think he is the exception, more than the rule though. Lynne. www.mirkwoodhollow.co.uk...
Well, one has to say he is exceptional. And I guess you mean dressage rather than showing? Does he have any special tack that would not normally be allowed...
Does anyone think this is too far "off topic"? I hope not and personally I think it is just about okay (!), as although it is not a "live show listing" it is...
... Well....I was just having a joke but yes......I believe most 'gadgets' are used by folk that can't be bothered to find out 'why' the hoss is doing what ...
I agree in general, though I still think there are times when a rider and horse may be helped with the correct 'gadget' without resorting to bad riding if the...

I had one 'horse job' where I rode only once the wole time I worked there (and it was made quite clear it was a 'one-off' and I should be more than suitably...
I know what you mean. I used to take my horses for walks, to0. I was lucky enough that when I've owned nags, we've had them in the back garden so plenty of...
