Against Identity Cards & the Database State

This group is for anyone on Merseyside & the Wirral who is concerned about the introduction of ID cards & the erosion of our civil liberties. It's part of Liverpool Defy ID

ID CARDS & THE NATIONAL IDENTITY REGISTER – THE BASICS

• ID cards WILL be compulsory - we will all be fingerprinted iris-scanned
• Excessive fines will be used for enforcement- e.g £2500 if we refuse, £1000 if we don’t tell them when we move house.
• Your details can be entered on the National Identity Register without your consent even before you’ve registered for an ID card
• The card will be needed to access essential public services & details recorded of when and where your card is used
• Future governments will have total license to add even more types of information to the database and to allow anyone it wants to have access to the information

We will be charged around £93, maybe more, for the card.
And it will cost £5.5 billion to set up and run - you can bet that that figure will double.

Serious criminals or terrorists won’t be inconvenienced by ID cards – but YOU will be.
