RE: [londonbirders] Re: RFI : Birding around London

Hi All,

I'm a birder new to the London area, being from Singapore on a 2-year work assignment.

Not birding much and when I do, much frustration with the little brown jobs ....

Will appreciate if I can hook up with anyone  who is birding on a weekend to help get my birding feet on the ground!   Thanks in advance.

And if anyone of you wishes to bird in Singapore, you know where to direct your queries.

Cheers,
yik shih

Hi Ashwini,

I would say the LVRP is your best bet. Traveling from Inner London
is easy a tube will take you to Walthamstow Res (Blackhorse Road
Station.) Then just walk to the Res. From hear you can also look
around Tottenham Marsh.

Fishers Green, You get a train from seven sisters station and get of
at Chesunt. From the station you walk through the LVRP to Fishers
Green, passing Hall Marsh and the Turnford Pits. Here you can
expect:Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, Chiffchaff, Garden, Willow &
Reed Wablers, Nightingale, Blackcap, possible Waders, Kingfishers,
cukoo and prehaps a Turtle Dove.

Hope this is of help i can provide more sites and details if you
want.

Also Des is the man to speak as he was IL recorder for a few years
and watched the IL aera well.

Chris
