Hi there, Indus :-)
>> I came back on your website to read some of your cookies, and noticed that Padfoot and Moony set of ficlets is supposed to be from an abandoned story. Is that permanently abandoned? I know your focus seems to be on 2 households, but I was hoping at some point you'd do a story about Remus and his son. Is that in the cards? Because Remus is one of my favorite characters and you've set up this tantalizing relationship with his son but we never get to see it. <<
"Padfoot And Moony Post-Circles" was a handful of cookies from a story called "Sirius Black Had Six Daughters" which I started to write, but gave up as a no-hoper. The main focus was intended to be Sirius's life after "Circles Of Power". Remus's son Phillippe, on the other hand, was initially mentioned in "One Week in The Summer" and made a very brief appearance in "Padfoot And Moony".
I don't know that I ever planned for Phillippe to do more than make a cameo appearance - the idea for the story was pretty sketchy in the first place and was always intended to focus on other things. Also, I suppose it never occurred to me that anyone would want to know more about Remus's son!
I'll be honest - I wasn't planning to write anything about them. But every time I think I've said everything I want to say about the Auror universe, I find myself coming back to it, so it's certainly something to think about, especially as Remus doesn't really get equal airtime in the series compared with the other characters. I'm not promising anything,
mind you, but it would be interesting to explore the idea. I'll give it some thought.
>> The reason I'm asking is that I wrote a fic with Remus and his daughters, inspired by your story, one of the few gen Potter stories I've ever written, and a sequel to that, but lost them both when my old computer crashed and USB memory stick thing broke. So since I don't have it in me to write them again, i was wondering if
you were going to write yours. You're a way better writer, anyway! <<
You have my sympathy for losing that story - there can't be many things that are more frustrating to a writer, especially when you've put a
lot of time into it :-(
Like I said, I can't promise anything, especially as I'm neck deep in Two Households 5 at the moment. But I'll definitely give it some thought. It would be interesting to do an Auror story that focuses on Remus for a change :-)
Take care,
Mad Martha
