Hi Indus,
Sorry to take so long to reply to this.
>>I'll admit to being a bigger Aurors fan, but I liked this ending. It was very bitter-sweet, and I have to ask- did you plan this before the sixth book? Even if you didn't, you're reflecting the strong possibility that none of our main characters are likely to finish the year at Hogwarts.<<
"Reparations" wasn't planned as such - it grew out of ideas I had for TH5 that didn't fit into the main framework of the storyline. When I plotted out TH4 and TH5 I had a lot of ideas about where the story would go in the future, but I wasn't entirely sure where I would make
the "cut-off" point. There were things I knew from quite early on - for example, that Harry and Ron would end up getting a little flat together for a while after they left school - but I wasn't sure if I would include them into the story. In the event, I didn't because they were all pretty sketchy ideas that didn't have a lot of relevance to the main plot. So I'm writing them up as little ficlets like "Reparations" now :-)
As for the books - well, I've given up speculating, as we're very close to finding out! I doubt anything I write will bear much resemblance to canon.
>>Loved your characters, but I have to ask- did we ever see the scene where Sirius tells Remus he's going to be a father? I mean- I remember Harry's reaction, but not Remus's.<<
No, I only mentioned it briefly in the story. It might be interesting to try to write that in retrospect, although I think poor
old Sirius had a very rough time.
>>And- when will we see more Aurors fic? Sorry, this WAS very good, but that fic is what got me into Ron/Harry slash.<<
If I'm truthful, I think it's more a case of "if" rather than "when". I don't have a lot of ideas for Auror stories at the moment. I think one of the reasons for that is because I view the Circles universe as a "happy" one, and the few story ideas I've had in the last couple of years have mostly been a bit miserable. If I come up with anything, though, I'll let you know.
Thanks for commenting on this :-)
Take care,
Mad Martha
