Thank you! Initially I thought "this will never work" but when I started to think about it, it really amused me, which is why I went ahead to see what would happen. I'm glad people like it, because it's a bit close to being a crack!fic compared to my normal stuff and doing a crossover of my own 'universes' is definitely weird. But a lot of fun!

I was trying to think of the things they would have in common, and little subconscious habits like that are the obvious ones. Plus, I could see both of them absent-mindedly nibbling on a quill while they're working. The absence of sweets in Harry's bag is because he's not allowed to eat them while he's convalescing, by the way :-) Otherwise there would definitely be chocolate frogs.
I think Ron does value it, more than he shows - but perhaps that will show up in the story I'm writing at the moment. As for Harry, his life isn't perhaps as happy as Checkmate Harry's, but he has things that compensate for it and I think things will definitely get better for him as he gets older.
*snicker* I'm not sure what TH! Ron would make of that! Perhaps he'd be intrigued - but would he want to play the game with Slytherin Harry? (He probably would!)
I'm really glad you liked this!
Take care,
