Hi avus :-)

I was hoping to do something a little more ... extensive? But the muse wasn't cooperating, so I'm afraid it was this rather brief ficlet.  It felt nice to be back in Two Householdsland again though :-)

>>Your story -- more a peek into the 2-Households Universe -- was nicely polyphonic, gently & harmoniously blending Harry's early recovery, his past trauma, his/Ron's relating, his tension being a First Family primo, house-elvishness, a believable construction of Magic Brit-Pagan Yule, and the humor & warmth of a good Christmas tale. And there's always hints that leave us wanting more: What is going on with those family portraits? Is there something to explore in that sacred grove? What else is there for Harry & Ron to find in & around the Rose House? As with JRK, you story-tell us into this world through Harry's still-learning eyes.<<

There are a lot of things I would still like to explore in this universe, and I have something like six or seven short stories started in my folder, but I don't seem to be getting very far with them at the moment.  The muse is very capricious!  And admittedly I've been concentrating on work and family a lot in the run up to Christmas.  Those are some interesting questions you ask, though.  I've wondered about the sacred grove myself; I'm inclined to think that Harry didn't find it before, partly because he wasn't looking and hasn't had many opportunities to look, and partly because it's not intended to be found easily.  I'm sure the coven would be happy to show him if he asked ... but what are the chances of him asking?

>>Nicely done.<<

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it :-)

And to you and yours!

I did post a handful of snippets from things in my folder to my LiveJournal as part of my end-of-year post - I don't know why I didn't post them here as well.  I'll try to sort that out in a minute.

Take care -)

Very nice. I find this "sick" Harry somewhat distressing, and yet at the same time love reading the kind of bittersweet stories about him... Any other...
