Welcome to Mad Martha's Fics!

I'm Mad Martha and this Group was created to provide anyone interested in my
Harry Potter fanfiction with a place where all my stories can easily be found.

Things you can do here:

- Receive any new stories from me before they are posted elsewhere;
- Download any of my Harry Potter stories from the Files section;
- Find cookies and cut scenes that won't be posted anywhere else;
- Get occasional updates on any stories I might be working on;
- Ask any questions you might have;
- Post feedback if you wish (to which I will respond);
- Eat the shortbread I provide, borrow back issues of "British Archaeology" and
"Interzone", and put your feet up on the sofa cushions.

Things you can't do here:

- Start fights *grin* The fandom can be a volatile place, but I would prefer
that any ongoing flame-wars pass this Group by;
- Post your own stories. Sorry, but this but this was never intended to be a
general fanfic Group;
- Post fic searches, 'pimp' your own fics, or post similar messages that are
unrelated to the primary purpose of the Group (people do join this Group for a
specific reason after all).

It's incredibly rare for me to put someone on moderated status, let alone ban
them - the members of this Group are very considerate people. If you behave
inconsiderately, however, I will take action. Please don't put me in the
position of having to do so :-)

And I hate having to include the following section at all, but the issue has
arisen a couple of times over the past year, so I'd prefer to clarify it now and
hopefully I won't have to write any more difficult e-mails about it -

Things I would ask you not to do at all:

- Write cookies or stories based on any of my stories, continue any of my
stories, expand any scenes from them, or similar;
- Ask me to beta your own stories.

Please note that most of my stories are slash, i.e. they contain descriptions of
male/male relationships. The average rating for my stories is PG13, but
occasionally there is a higher rating of R for language and some sexual content.
Any stories I judge deserving of a higher rating than PG13 will be clearly
marked.

Please be aware that there *will* be spoilers for the most recent books in
places. Also, at least one of the series is getting quite complicated. Please
do read the author notes, to help you avoid unwanted spoilers and to understand
what's going on.

When choosing which option to join the Group under (individual e-mails, daily
digest, special notices only, no e-mail), be aware that I DON'T post stories to
the Group using the Special Notices feature. This is because I post via e-mail
in order to preserve as much of the formatting as possible. If you're joining
the Group to be kept updated on new stories, please pick either individual
e-mails or the daily digest, or make sure you check the webpage regularly.

On a final, hopefully helpful note, I'm aware that people occasionally have
problems opening or downloading random chapters from stories in the files. This
appears to be a problem with Yahoo, which can generally be resolved by you going
out of the Group, clicking 'reload', and re-entering the Group again. If you
continue to have problems, though, please let me know and we'll work something
out :-)
