If you live in the Marr area of Aberdeenshire and are interestred in astronomy then the Marr Astronomical Society is the place for you! We are a group of amateur astronomers who take advantage of the dark skies of our rural location to observe the night skies, whenever the weather permits. We also have regular, monthly, social meetings, when we enjoy wide ranging discussions on astronomy and other science topics. The group includes members of all ages and backgrounds with a great diversity of practical and theoretical knowledge of astronomy, from beginner onwards.
This group site allows members to access a variety of astronomy resources, from information on how to get started in astronomy to files on how to build your own observatory. It also allows members to upload and share astronomically relevant material such as files, links and photos.
Anyone wishing to join the marrastro group will recieve an email from the group moderator requesting your name and contact details. You will also need a Yahoo identity and password to access the site.
