mis firing under load - checking ignition leads

My mazda 626, 1998 (newer shape), 2.0 litre.

The car starts ok and idles and runs ok.
However, when acclerating or when there is a load on the engine (ie the road
speed is too low for the gear selected - for example, road speed is say 29mph,
and 4th gear is selected),
the power from the engine is not smooth (ie slightly jerky) as if there is
a misfire.

Anyone had this before?

How can I check that my ignition leads are ok?

You can't really check the leads.. but as a rule, they start to breakdown from around 60K miles... I would start by checking the plugs first, and change if...	John compyshop	May 26, 2009 8:31 pm
