Dave, you need to turn the engine over by hand, and check all the marks line up as stated in the manual.. one notch out anywhere, and you'll need to adjust it....

The std built in spoiler is hollow GRP... it's more plastic than fibreglass.. You would have to bolt through all of it, but then have difficulty in tightening...
