Got my Mad Max!   Message List

Hello again. After a 12 year wait I finally bought
an MX-3 today so I'm a very Happy Hector! It's a red
V6 on a K plate with alarm and service history. Its
done 99k and had a cam belt change at 59k. It was
on sale for £1295 and I got it for £800 and they
threw in a service, MOT and short warranty which
doesnt seem too bad. Ok the bodywork has a few
blemishes but its a 14 year old car. Had a 30 mile
drive home up the motorway and it went very nicely.
My only gripe is the steering wheel is too low - I
am 6 ft and its a bit hard to get my legs in under
it and it also obscures the top of the dials. I
thought someone had lowered it but its as high as it
will go. Anyone else found this? Did they change it
on later models at all? The other frustration is
being an early model the stalks are reversed so my
winescreen got a wipe every time i overtook or
turned a corner! Oh and the bonus is the reg has
got my initials in it . Well its actually 1J but
thats good enough. Cheers Ian (via wap)

I found a similar problem with mine, but I am probably a bit shorter than you, and it wasn't as bad. I'm afraid the design was optimised for Japanese...

Btw, I don't think the stalks are due to it being an early model. I had a '96, and they were the same. It's just the way they have them in Japan. I now have...
