Re: engine cutting out?

Could be the common problem of a small tear in the concertina rubber conduit
between the VAF sensor and the throttle body, or between the airbox and the VAF
sensor - I forget. I sold my MX-3 years ago. Any air getting in there will
upset the fuel/air control. If you find a tear, a temporary fix could be some
very sticky plastic tape, but you'll need a new tube - expect to pay over £60!

Another common problem is the igniter in the distributor (fix is a new or recon
disty, or replace the ignitor (transistor)if you are a skilled dismantler &
solderer and can get the part - don't ask Mazda - they only do whole
distributors). But this failure is usually terminal, not intermittent.

wife driving around this evening and started cutting out, as if foot has been
taken of throttle? but it suddenly bursts into life 2 seconds later, gonna check
everything over again, prehaps i have a loose conection or corroded or
something. also thinking throttle position sensor has loose conection or broke.
