I could use the black plastic box bit on the front bumper that
holds the reg number plate on, I bumped into a car on Christmas eve,
broke that bit and my reg plate, could have been worse. I use Paypal
if you take it?

I just paid $66 USD for this part from my local (michigan, USA)
mazda dealer. It is part number k80113220d here in the states.

Thanks for that. The problem is that I appear to have cracked a
spring and need to replace the front set as a result. I was looking
into lowering kits as a cheaper alternative to the standard springs
which come in at £100 a pair.
Good looking car though!

You sure you wanna lower it, try bigger wheels, I have 17 inch alloys with
225/45 tyres looks pretty good, hopefully the attached image gives you an idea,
we were gonna lower ours but the wheels turned out better we thought.
Slight change as the image would not attach to the post on the message board so
I stuck the image in the file section on the message board since the photo
section does not seem to work

Hi To All,
Just had a front end collision in my MX-3 and damaged front light
drivers side again ! And damaged power steering reservoir behind
light. Does anyone know if this reservoir is under pressure or simply
a reservoir to hold steering fluid as i was wondering if i could
repair it. new one costs £56. The end hose has split off the container
and looks like it could be repiared with araldite. Please advise as
car is undriveable at the moment...

Another name for it is oxygen sensor, or O2 sensor. It measures the
O2 content in the exhaust gas to automatically control the fuel
injected at the inlet, so that the mixture in the cylinders is
correct for complete combustion.

Hi Donna,
I can only tell you what the UK cars use - my database does not cover
imports. However, there is usually no difference if the engine is the
same size.
1600cc cars up to No 950601 use B6DC-18-861A, after that number its
Z536-18-861A. Both parts are 94.04 plus VAT from a Mazda dealer.
You could try contacting a Japanese import specialist (try Google to
find). They may have Japanese documentation to pin down the part
number, and may be able to supply it cheaper.

I have sold my MX-3, and have been selling off my workshop manuals on
EBay (which is where I bought them). They were all the North American
version, but it is virtually identical to the UK model, except some UK
models have an immobiliser, and UK models do not have cruise control.
I still have the following to sell:
Chiltons 46802 for the MX-3, 323, 626, MX-6, Xedos 9, etc. Chiltons is
published in the US and is similar to Haynes.
The first Volume of the 1991 Mazda UK MX-3 Workshop Manual (the 2nd was
out of print, and they all are now). It covers Engine & Engine
Electrical, clutch, auto and manual transmissions; the rest is in Vol 2.
I also have the Mazda US Wiring Diagram Manual and the Electrical
Troubleshooting Manual for the 1996 model. They apply to the UK model,
except as above, and that the diagnostics are not OBDII.
Let me know if you're interested.

I got mine fitted by a company called Longlife, they did a good job and have
a number of workshops throughout the uk, mind you the main reason I choose
them was they were doing a deal at the time where they paid the VAT for you.
So, worth checking around for quotes from other companies i rekon. Cheers,
Dave.

Hi, mate. I junked my CAT when i fitted a stainless steel system last
year. I was able to do this as my car was registered before August
1992. So if your car is one of the earlier models, yes you can remove
it. It does improve the performance too!!! Good luck. Dave.
