The current issue includes four pages on the life and work of King Offa, two
pages on the dyke and the rest largely taken up by his dealings with
Charlemagne and the Church. He gets a rather bad press (the letters page is
open to
those who think this unfair) but all publicity for Mercia can be accounted good
publicity.
