Julia,
I just bought some remanaent pieces at a new needleshoppe I discovered within 1 hour of me and picked out pieces that I have never worked on before to use for exchanges mainly and I will save a small piece if possible so if I do like it I will get more of it when I return. The owner said that there is a silk counted fabric that my friend mention and she said it is very eay to work with. so that will be the next purchase.
I am going to do the chapels that Micheal has in the freebie section. They are going into a room that I remodeled in my home in January as the computer/cross stitching room! And I have 2 cabinets with drawers filled with thread in one, and fabric and kits in the other.
i want to use an antigue looking fabric for the chapels for I am a primitive country person at heart and that is how my kitchen is decorated. But any kind of country decorating is my fortay! My cross
stitching room is like an English garden country look. Filled with exchange cross stitching designs, my thimble collection (313 to date) all kinds from places I or someelse vistied to anykind to antigue ones.
Thanks for the welcome and maybe in the future we can get a fabric swapping exchange. We did one in the EMS group, but we all had to hand dye our own to send to the partner and I got some nice pieces back and enjoyed doing it that now I am still ceating some pieces I send out as a bonus in some exchanges!
onto the other post! joan P in Pa

Hi Joan. I hope this group is going to be fun too.
I know what you mean about fabric being addictive, I've got a
drawerful! Most of our designs are fully stitched so the fabric
doesn't show at all. I used to love evenweave, I had a favourite
cotton/linen mix, but in recent years I have found that I don't enjoy
even weave. I struggle to see and count it, and then it becomes a
bit of a misery to do. So now I work all on Aida, but I am fussy
about my Aida! I used a cotton/linen one for my last big project, a
birth sampler for the latest grandson. It had a wonderful feel to
it.
