Description

Midlands Federation of Astronomical Societies (MidFAS)

MidFAS is a collection of Astronomical Societies in the Midlands. Formerly known as WeMFAS (for West Midlands) the group was re-launched in October 2007 with a view to expanding the Societies it serves and cover much more of the Midlands area. MidFAS is therefore open to any Astronomical Society in the West Midlands and surrounding counties.

The idea of MidFAS is to pool the resources and knowledge of its Member Societies, help each with events such as public lectures and conventions, and also help with knowledge and expertise in various projects and activities.

The group also reports to the Federation of Astronomical Societies (FAS) and acts as a focal point for communications between MidFAS Member Societies and the FAS.
