Hi everyone,

My name's Yvonne, I am 56 and live in Sheldon.  I am vegetarian struggling to become vegan but I do have a problem with milk in coffee and I have tried all ways but soya still seems to curdle and I do have an occasional free range egg (I actually see the chickens run free so I know they are definitely free range).

I started campaigning  last year when I passed an animal rights stall (Solihull Animal Aid and met a wonderful lady called Ursula whom a lot of you probably know) and for the first time realised just how terrible life was for the modern farm animal and also read a leaflet that said if you love animals how come you eat them.  So I decided there and then to never eat anything with a face!  I also learned about many other forms of cruelty that I had no idea was happening in the world and so I bought a computer and started to write letters etc.  I also help out on stalls and collections.

Not a lot more to tell, I am married to an extremely long suffering husband!  I go to the gym regularly, mostly without enthusiasm, and I am a very, very amateur artist attending college.  (I know I am an extremely mature student!).

I hate all animal cruelty.  I suppose if I had to chose an issue it would probably be testing on animals for make-up which is totally unnecessary although all cruelty is totally unnecessary.  I now buy all my cosmetics, toiletries and household products cruelty free. 

I joined this group to find other people who felt as I do about animals.

By now you will have deduced that I am quite a sociable person and love a good chat!  Thats about it.
