AKM This is the company that makes the A-D convertor in the VS-1880. There is an improved version of the AK5394A, but it's not likely to fit in any VS machine. http://www.akm.com
LC AUDIO An interesting company from Denmark. They do the latest 'Super chip' AD8066. Only two problems though; 1. The module will not fit in any Roland machine. 2. AD8066 has a maximum voltage suppy of +-13V. Unfortunately Roland have chosen +-15V as their mainboard op-amp supply. In order to use this super-chip, you'll need a custom PCB with a 'voltage dropping network'. LC Audio also stock the now discontinued AD825. Check out the pdf VS Upgraders guide for the custom VS sized PCB. http://www.lcaudio.dk
MAPLIN ELECTRONICS Another great company to get components and tools from, although these days they're looking a little bit 'High Street'. No longer supplying a vast range of chips. Usual first port of call. http://www.maplin.co.uk
SOUND ODYSSEY This company is the US supplier for the new chip offered by Analog Devices. The adaptor dimensions look a bit doubtful (in other words it's probably going to be too big for the VS), but good news is, they'll do the AD8066 on its own. All you have to do is make your own PCB with a 'voltage dropping network'. Check out the VS Upgraders guide PDF. http://www.soundodyssey.com
VG-88 USERS GROUP Roland VG-88 users' group, exploring the wonders of the VG-88 guitar synth. Several MP3's of meself struggling on the guitar. http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/vg-88usersgroup/
VIEWCOM ELECTRONICS A very helpful company. How many times do you find yourself having to take out an account with some company, just to get hold of the right parts. Well, with Viewcom you don't. One of the UK's more progressive component suppliers. http://www.viewcom.force9.co.uk
VS PLANETS BULLETIN BOARD Roland reckon they've sold 100,000 VS machines. 100,000 users can't be wrong. http://www.vsplanet.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi
