RE: [momodublin] Rebooting MoMo Dublin

Given the squeeze on the purse these days, I can understand the problems of getting a sponsor. John's offer of a venue sounds good. Why not find out how many would be interested in attending, assume everyone would be willing to part with a tenner at the door and have some coffee, tea and biscuits lined up in advance? Casual mingling of like-minded mobile specialists, and probably enough left over in the kitty to afford better biscuits for next time...

John,

Thanks for the offer, much appreciated. We'll see how everyone responds and then decide what to do.

Regards,
Ronan

All,

It's been quite a while since we had our last meeting. We were going to try to organise something in the March time frame this year but preparation for and recovery after MWC in Barcelona, and changes in the economy conspired against us.

In order to get things going again in a relatively gentle way, we were thinking about two alternatives:

  1. An unthemed casual meetup. This would be something like our previous format, but with no organised speakers or theme (or sponsorship). This makes the event more a casual meeting of mobile folk than a more formal MoMo event, with the tremendous advantage of being much simpler to organise (no speakers to corral), the downside being that you'd have to pay for your own drinks.
  2. A OpenCoffee-like event, held during the day in some cafe, probably somewhere near the city center. This would be something of a break with the Mobile Monday format, but may suit people better and draw a new and different audience.

We'd like to hear your thoughts. Please comment here or on the blog (http://momodublin.com).

Ronan
