: WILF LUNN INTERVIEW
  British Eccentric Speaks Out

  Mike Trinder writes -

"I've always been a fan of Wilf Lunn, since
I first saw him making a halitosis hat on
  kids TV in the 70s.

"I thought I'd lost my treasured copy of his
first book which told you how to make all sorts
of useless stuff, so when I found it again I
was determined to track him down and say hello.

"A quick Google and email later, he phoned me
up at work. I've never been so happy."

Read the interview. Wilf Lunn is one of
  Britain's greats...

: DOG VS WATER
  B3ta goes "You've been framed"

  Grover Sanschagrin writes -

"I've made this video of my friend Noma's dog

So that we can spend it on b3ta

Do you like what we do? You do know that we
do it for love don't you? However running
the site costs us money. Not in staff costs
'cause we're stupid and work for free.

The money is spent on our servers. We've just
bought a second one and we really need your
  cash to support it.

We can take paypal, direct transfers and
cheques. Even £5 would be useful. Dig deep.

: WANK HOLIDAY MONDAY
Give up masturbation for the blind.

B3ta legends Manic and Koit have produced this
lovely song and Flash video. It's very
beautiful and it's about their love for online
  pornography.

The song also supports the "Wank Holiday Monday"
campaign created by Nik Roope for the Royal
  National Institute of the Blind.

They haven't asked for this campaign but
Nik is giving it to them anyway. Lucky them.

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK
Balls, Jpegs, Art Quiz, Shit, Credit & Myra

  >> Throwy Ball Game <<
"I made this game with a mate for a friend's
band," mutters Quiet Phil, "You can play it by
yourself but, as with all things in life, it's
better with a partner." Yay. This is
  excellent, with innovative and intuitive
  game play.
http://www.athlete.mu/downloads/game.html

  >> Art or Arse <<
"I made a quiz", squeals Margaret Nissen,
"wherein you have to guess whether stuff is art
or just regular old crap from the net." Harder
  than it sounds.
http://www.modestypanel.com/artorcrap/

  >> Shit on a Plate <<
We get a lot of substandard entries for the
newsletter. This is the worst. Electrichamster
has sent in a photo of his flatmate Matt proudly
displaying his own shit on a plate. Look at that
smile - what mother could want more?
http://www.electrichamster.net/cantcookwontcook/turd1.jpg

  >> Share Your Credit Card Details <<
Mr. Fancyteeth has had a brainwave. "I've
noticed how everyone wants to publish all
their personal credit card details on a
website," he writes, "Well now, thanks to me,
they can. And I'll animate them to the theme
tune of 80's TV crime drama, Magnum PI."
  What could be better?
http://www.mycreditcarddetails.co.uk

  >> Myra Hindley In Space <<
Big Brother is starting again. Luckily Brian
Mung doesn't work for Endemol, otherwise it
would be set in space, star Myra Hindley and
  look a lot like this.
http://www.brianmung.com/myra.htm

-------------------------------------------------

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.

  >> I've Upgraded my C64 to Windows <<
Computer case mods are quite a thing on the
net. Here's our latest favourite. It uses old
Commodore boxes to house modern PCs. Woo.
We're like pigs in 80s shit.
http://www.mini-itx.com/projects.asp

  >> Free Holiday for Ladies <<
Girls: Aged between 20 and 28? You can stay in
Athens free of charge. You've got to shag the
landlord, mind you. (Shame it's not real and
the bloke is simply collecting material for
  a book.)
http://www.ezb8.com/default.asp

  >> Russian Conference Whores <<
Men: Like looking at pretty ladies? Like
laughing at bad translations of Russian mobile
phone conferences? You're in the land of
luck as this site combines both.
http://www.mobile-review.com/exhibition/svyaz2003-girls-en.shtml

  >> Ban Comic Sans Font <<
Oh god. Don't tell us you don't know Comic
Sans. It's the most revolting font ever made.
You've seen it in parish church newsletters,
on the side of vans and on shop hoardings. It
must die. Join the campaign and register your
disgust by covering your city with stickers.

  >> Jumping Cow Game <<
Thank fuck for Tetra Pak. They make groovy
packaging for milk. They've also commissioned this
game. We have no idea why, we can't see the
connection. But we do know that it's good. It's
plays like Mario in low gravity.
http://games.tetrapak.com/milkrunrun.php

  >> Pixel Art Tower <<
This project has been doing the rounds of the
design sites for a while now. They're asking
designers to draw one story of a hi-rise block
each. It would look wonderful printed on the
  wall of a child's bedroom. B3ta's designer
Denise Wilton in there too - see if you can
  find her.

Here's a neat idea. Can you hack the this site?
It presents a series of pages with passwords
  which get increasingly difficult.

: B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE
Results from the X-Ray Vision Challenge

Each week we run a competition to test your
creative skills. We set a challenge and you
open Photoshop and mess with our heads.

Last week we wanted to see the world with
  X-Ray vision:
http://b3ta.com/challenge/xray/

We asked B3ta boarder 'pollollups' to judge the
entries - here are her 3 faves.

  Pollollups writes -

#1 "Pantomime Horses - fantastic work and you
can just hear those horses sniggering inside
     the costume. (monkeon)
http://b3ta.com/board/1237150

#2 "American Muppets - I love beaker and this
makes more sense than you can ever imagine
     (woowoowoo)
http://b3ta.com/board/1242708

#3 "Recursive Chicken - clever clever and nicely
done, but the joke is worth the effort. Would
have won if it was animated." (sick_boy)
http://b3ta.com/board/1230104

"Oh, and a special mention for Ijon Tichy's lego
  pirate thingy. We like."

  >> This Weeks Challenge <<

This week, B3ta contributor Glis gave us
the suggestion, "The Wonderful Adventures of
  Terry Wogan's Wig"

-------------------------------------------------

: WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
  Bookish follow-ups on previous stories.

  * DOGS IN CARS - "A huge thank you to everyone
who helped Dogs in Cars become the success
it is", barks Jerome Turner, "We now have 300
pictures of dogs. Woof! However, we are still
trying to get the project published as a
    book." Good luck guys.
http://www.dogsincars.co.uk

  * MONKEY MAN - "We've been interviewed by the
Sunday Telegraph," chirps CCC, "Richard &
Judy have been in touch - Meridian TV want
to do a slot, Private Eye (i.e. Ian Hislop)
have read it and laughed and Loaded magazine
are going to do a photoshoot. I am also
planning to do a book, based on the whole
affair." Er.. Again, good luck guys.
http://www.b3ta.com/interview/monkeyman/

  * ROGER MOORE SAYS YAY - Remember Dan Chambers'
requiem flash? Dan writes - "Well blimey. I've
been in contact with Roger Moore's PA and
apparently the great man has seen the animation
and enjoyed it enough to add a link to his
website!" (Editor writes: Roger Moore grew up
near to my Granddad in Streatham. My granddad
lent him 25 shillings to buy a pair of shoes
when he married his first wife. He still
hasn't paid up. Roger, are you reading? Remember
Douglas Gordon Harris? Hmmm? Don't you think
    it's time you coughed up?)

: STAR IN NEXT WEEK'S ISSUE

Make something cool and tell us about it. If
you are in it then people will see your stuff.

Things we'd really like to see include

  * EXTREME PLUSH TOY ADVENTURES - we're always
seeing little photostories that people have
made featuring their soft toys. But they
    don't have the senses-shattering excitement
and action we crave. Can you do better? Why
not take your teddy bear to see a prostitute?
    And murder her?

  * PAYPAL STRIP TEASE - are you a sexy
exhibitionist? You've seen all these cyber
begging sites like savekaryn yeah? Why not
offer to remove one item of clothing for
every £100 you raise? C'mon it's net gold.

  * SAYITWITHPANTS.COM - imagine the warm glow
of walking about wearing smalls imprinted
with the phrase "the boss is a cunt." Your
boss would never know. But you would. And
you'd feel good. Mmmm, so good.

HAMELL ON TRIAL NEWS AND DATES

Below are the immediate dates, and here are answers to the questions that have been coming in lately. On the European dates Hamell will be opening for Ani DiFranco. This means a 40 minute set ONLY. Hamell will absolutely, positively, honest to God, I swear, be back for an EXTENSIVE tour of Europe, by himself, in December. Really.

Hamell's new CD, TOUGH LOVE, will be released in August and will be out in North America on Righteous Babe records. (The song "Hail" will be on it.) Hamell has also signed to the prestigious booking agency Fleming Associates. What does that mean? Finally, the West Coast and Southern tours we've been promising will become a reality this year: East Coast in September, South, Mid-West and West-Coast in October and November. We'll send the specifics as they arrive.

Hamell should be seeing you all, this year. Thanks for caring. Seriously.

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK
Haircuts, Lunch, Socks, Water Pistols & Weebl

  >> Crap Haircut <<
Ah Dogbomb. He's been contributing to b3ta
for a while. And now? He's cut his hair.
Yeah yeah, sounds dull. But the joy is in
the detail and what a bad job he's made of it.
  http://www.dogbomb.co.uk/20030529-haircut/

  >> Email Lunchboxes <<
It's nice to able to email someone a picture
you found on the web. But have you ever felt
that the thing missing was the ability to wrap
the image up in a lunchbox? That's what the
Mantlepies guys think. Works best if you know
  how fiddle with image URLs.
http://www.mantlepies.com/Ecards/Ecards.html

  >> Sock Fucking <<
Remember the Red Hot Chilli Peppers "cocks
in socks" poster? Did you want to join in?
Now you can thanks to Steve's site. Warning:
nerdy blokes wearing socks on their cocks.
http://cgi.fucksocks.co.uk/?pid=erk&location=sockfucker/index.html

  >> Soaking Pedestrians <<
"We decided it would be a good idea to purchase
a super soaker," writes Obscure Intro, "and drive
around squirting people, of course we caught it
all on film and here it is..." Hmmm. Can't you
get arrested for this? BTW: There's a lot of
video here. The last one on the second page
  made our heart pound.
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1261860

  >> Weebl & Bob Papier Maché <<
  If you've been reading b3ta for a while you'll
know all about the Weebl & Bob cartoons. Rob
Nyman is a fan and has shown his love by
building models of their stars. He did it all
himself, without any help from the grown-ups.
http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~ppxran/weebl/index.html

-------------------------------------------------

: OFFICE CUNT CORNER
  Bad lyrics

  Mugwump Lee writes -

"This is a showcase website for the fantastic
lyric-writing of one Will Van Der Byl. It is
actually for real, we work in the same office.
Although he doesn't know that everyone in the
building has seen it, laughed at it, formed
ironic fan-clubs etc. Oh, and the bike isn't
  his."
http://www.freewebz.com/vanderbyl/a.htm

BTW: Has some twat in your office got a
cringe-making website that makes him look
a total dickhead? Tell us and we might
  just tell the world.

-------------------------------------------------

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.

  >> Convert Your Cock Into A Vagina <<
Boys! The thing you've been waiting for: now
you can have a vagina of your own and pee
sitting down. Icky and expensive. Just like
  the real thing.
http://www.castlesupplys.com/newframe/pocketv.htm

  >> Database Your Gay Shags <<
Let's say you are a promiscuous gay man. Think
of the trouble you'd have remembering all your
shags. Thank fuck someone has made an incredibly
anal database to handle it all. Complete with
a checkbox for rimming. How handy.
http://www.tekknick.com/itrick/

  >> How Dodgy Are You? <<
Now you can find out how many years in jail
your guilty past would buy you. As these
things go, it's rather entertaining. We
belong in prison for a long, long time.
But then we already knew that.
http://www.thesite.org/magazine/dodgy.html

  >> Jap Sitcom "nigger" Fest <<
We've been trying to link to this item for
weeks but it's so popular that the site
keeps going down. It's a Japanese TV show
about a family obsessed with the word "nigger"
Too ridiculous to be considered rascism, but
certainly in questionable taste. If this
link doesn't work try Kazaa. It's worth it.
http://fredwick.com/files/tokyo_breakfast.asx

  >> The Most Disturbing Conversation of my life <<
Tucker Max. Heard of him? You should have. He's
one of the few people out there writing
genuinely entertaining copy on the web. It
mostly involves him getting drunk and
shagging. This one is a lovely little chat in
a gay bar. Click around a bit. He's funny.
http://tuckermax.com/Stories/conversation.htm

  >> Titanium Fansite <<
The web is a place for fans to live out
their geeky fandom. And also a place for
us to laugh at it. To you or me titanium
is the stuff that swanky laptops are made
of. Sample quote: "I have been a fan of the
metal ever since I heard of its important
uses in industry, such as its high
melting point." Fucking hell. The best bit
  is the guestbook. Look-see!
http://titaniumfansite.4t.com/fsguestbook.html

  >> "I fortold Christina Aguilera" <<
C'mon. The going's good. Let's laugh at more
net nutters. This one thinks his wank
  fantasy art inspired songstress Christina
Aguilera. And the joke is? It looks nothing
  like her. Webtard.
http://www.artoflawmack.com/poster_girl.htm

  >> Techno Wanks <<
We all love wanking and what could be better
than doing it without fingers? Why not plug
your muffin into this device and get with
  the groove?
http://www.audi-oh.com/Store/default.asp

-------------------------------------------------

: 15 SECONDS OF STUPID
  Short anims from b3ta people

  >> Cows with no legs <<
Weebl has been on holiday for the last few
weeks - and do you know the first thing
he did on his return? He animated cows with
  no legs. Strange little fellow.
http://195.149.21.55/misc/clow.swf

  >> Exam lucky charm <<
Spacefish has been taking exams. Instead of
revising he's made a short song to send
to his friends and inspire them to do well.
  Crap but charming.
http://www.glastonbridge.co.uk/flash/facts.html

  >> Headbutt the screen <<
RoboticLegs has made this tiny interactive
toy. You can make a man headbutt the screen.
by dragging with your mouse. Oddly satisfying.
http://www.alittlepoison.com/comment/archives/chrishorrorreel.swf

: B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE
Results from the Wogan's Wig Challenge

Each week we run a competition to test your
creative skills. We set a challenge and you
open Photoshop and mess with our heads.

Last week we wanted the adventures of Terry
  Wogan's Wig:
http://b3ta.com/challenge/wogan/

We asked B3ta boarder 'HP' to judge the
entries - here are his 3 faves.

  HP writes -

#1 "Terry's wig went to San Francisco - The
fabulous babe magnet that is Terry as a
rampant homosexual is nice enough, but
this is wonderfully executed too. (Tart Monkey)
http://b3ta.com/board/1286772

#2 "Woganberry - A truly awful pun with some
nice, simple, back to basics photoshopping.
     (Marioshi)
http://b3ta.com/board/1273068

#3 "Specialist head wear for our Terry - What is
this? It makes no sense, but it's fantastic."
     (skankycode)
http://b3ta.com/board/1254491

  >> This Weeks Challenge <<

This week, the scary Challenge Dictator gave us
the suggestion, "Bad Song, Worse Movie":
http://b3ta.com/challenge/badsongworsemovie/

-------------------------------------------------

: WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
  Follow-ups on previous stories.

  * WANK HOLIDAY MONDAY II - "100k visitors so
far," writes Nik Roope, "Also our second wank
holiday is now on June the 9th." Yay for not
    wanking.
http://www.wankholidaymonday.co.uk

: STAR IN NEXT WEEK'S ISSUE

Make something cool and tell us about it. If
you are in it then people will see your stuff.

Things we'd really like to see include:

  * INTERVIEW WITH A PLUSHIE - Do you fuck
soft toys? Have you got photos of your
doing so? Do you fancy being interviewed
    and mocked? Get in touch.

  * CAT FISH SCREENSAVER - "My 6 yr old boy is
engrossed by all things gnarly." writes Lou,
"He loves your sea creatures screensaver
and requests a new version with animated
dogfish / catfish, as he doesn't quite get
the whole they are a fish, but a dog thing."
Make a small boy's dream come true. Here's
    the old one:

GORE VIDAL
Dreaming War
book 107 (2003)

junta head on in a series of devastating essays that demolish the lies
American Empire lives by, unveiling a counter-history that traces the
origins of America's current imperial ambitions to the experience of
World War Two and the post-war Truman doctrine. And now, with the
Cheney-Bush leading us into permanent war, Vidal asks whose interests
are served by this doctrine of pre-emptive war? Brand new!

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK
Top week. Click your whack for this our kid

  >> Weebl & Bob: J-Lo Fest <<
  Isn't J-Lo great? She's got a fantastic arse
yet she still keeps it real. Weebl pays
tribute in the best Weebl & Bob cartoon in
ages. The animation alone is a cut above.
http://www.weebl.jolt.co.uk/wee-lo.htm

  >> Retrogame Millionaire <<
"This is probably a bit too geeky and obscure
for the newsletter," bleeps Nick Humphries,
"but as you like looking at old Speccy
screenshots..." Jesus fucking Christ he's got
us pegged. We played this for 4 days straight
and haven't eaten at all. Huzzah. We're
  slim now.
http://www.ysrnry.co.uk/cgi-bin/squil.pl

  >> Skippy The Goth Kangaroo <<
"I've made a new animation," squeals Matazone,
  "57 seconds long and a day's work, it's got
kangaroos, goths and retro TV references."
  Yay. Made us giggle.
http://www.matazone.co.uk/skippy-the-goth-kangaroo.html

  >> Sex Quiz <<
What would the b3ta newsletter be without a
mucky quiz? This one's a fantastic effort by
Artamnesia - can you tell from a facial
expression whether someone's having sex or
doing something else? We can't - a constant
  problem for us.
http://www.modestypanel.com/SorSE/

  >> Flip Flop Flyin' Music Vid <<
"I made a video for a nice Italian band called
Giardini di Miro," emotes Craig Robinson of
cult design site Flipflopflyin. "I kinda ignored
the lyrics and just followed the mood of the
song." We didn't understand it at all, but it
made all the little hairs on our arms stand
  on end. Watch it.
http://www.flipflopflyin.com/gdm/index.html

  >> Interactive Beatbox Frenzy <<
Human beatboxing is brilliant to see. Now you
  can recreate that experience electronically
without the aid of lips. Thank Weebl and
Rob Manuel for this slice of musical
  stupidity. Twats that they are.
http://www.weebls-stuff.com/games/11/

  >> Voodoo Trombone Quartet <<
Thorpe has beens contributing MP3s to b3ta
for a while. Remember his Big Brother Jade
track? Now he has a new band, and they all
  have trombones. They rock bells.
http://www.voodootrombonequartet.co.uk/VTQ_From_The_Block.mp3

-------------------------------------------------

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.

  >> Internet Pictionary <<
iSketch has been knocking about for years.
We're late in getting into it but now we're
addicted. If you haven't played it then
play it. Now. Kiss goodbye to getting
any work done. BTW: There's often a b3ta
  room.
http://www.isketch.net/isketch.shtml

  >> Worst Singing Ever? <<
"Hi, I am Wing!" writes Wing on her website,
"I have been learning singing in New Zealand
and I do performances in Rest Homes and
  Hospitals." Christ, aren't they suffering
enough? BTW: Her rendition of The Carpenters'
Close to You is a particular treat.
http://www.wingmusic.co.nz/listen.html

  >> Richard Herring Diary <<
Remember Richard Herring? He was the fat bloke
from Fist of Fun. He was funny. He still is,
and now he's running a website with daily
updates about what he's been up to. It's very
entertaining. Apart from the section about
collecting car registration numbers, which is
  kind of sad.
http://www.richardherring.com/cnps.php

  >> Icky World Records <<
Ray Macaraeg of San Jose, California, USA, blew
119 soap bubbles from a standard child's soap
bubble container in 30 seconds with a live
tarantula nestled inside his mouth. Why the
fuck would you want to do something like that?
http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/video_content/100222_bb.asx

  >> The Customer is Always Wrong <<
If you've ever worked with the public, you'll
know they're all idiots. This guy entertainingly
lambasts the fools who come into his computer
  games store. Click about a bit - there's a
  lot of good stuff here.
http://www.actsofgord.com/Annoy/chapter07.html

  >> 3D Floaty Snake <<
Game. Pretty. Tricky. Woo fun clicky.
http://www.sfcave.com/snake.php

  >> Worst Country Song Titles... Ever! <<
This is a list purported to contain the
worst country music song names in the world.
However, we actually rather liked a few of
them. Sample title, 'If I'd Killed You
When I Wanted To, I'd be Out of Jail By
  Now.'
http://www.downstream.sk.ca/country.htm

  >> The Nation Has a New Superhero <<
Get ready to meet Angle-Grinder Man. He's a
lone vigilante making a stand against car
clampers. He's not the most impressive
physical specimen in the world. We'd still do
  him, though.
http://www.anglegrinderman.com/gallery1.htm

  >> Bondage escape tips <<
If, like us, you enjoy cross-dressing and tying
yourself up, you may find this useful. This page
is full of ways to get yourself loose when you've
had your kinky fun. One idea is to freeze the
keys to your shackles in an ice cube.
http://www.slamhost.com/stories/selfbondage/main.html

-------------------------------------------------

: 15 SECONDS OF STUPID
  Short anims from b3ta people

  >> Invisible Washing Machine <<
"I made this on the first day I had Flash,"
snorts Squashynose, "Me and a friend got a bit
tipsy, and decided that small furry creatures
were a good idea." Yay. She's right.
http://www.freewebs.com/squashynose/thtt/flash/pweeb1.swf

  >> Cat Lounge Singer <<
"I know you guys like your cute stuff at b3ta,"
purrs Brian Mung, "So here's something cute."
Blimey. Very pretty it is, too.
http://www.brianmung.com/littlemew.htm

  >> Matrix 4 <<
Suz has seen the new Matrix film and has tried
to imagine what episode four might be like.
But on a very tight budget. Mmm tight.

: B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE
Results from the Bad Song, Worse Movie Challenge

Each week we run a competition to test your
creative skills. We set a challenge and you
open Photoshop and mess with our heads.

Last week we wanted terrible movies that took
  their plots from bad songs:
http://b3ta.com/challenge/badsongworsemovie/

We asked B3ta boarder 'Mozza' to judge the
entries - here are his 3 faves.

  Mozza writes -

#1 "Theme From Shaft the Movie - Damn right!
This made me laugh lots.  How many
different Isaac Hayes would be needed to
make the soundtrack for this film?
     Beautifully recursive.
     (Mystery Bob)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1295443

#2 "Totally Addicted to Bass - I love the idea
of jacking up with a graphic equaliser
syringe. 'Nurse, give him 3 more dbs
     of Morphine' (Monkeon)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1306505

#3 "Green Green Grass of Home - Tom Jones's
face, his location and the fact that he's
singing make him look like the happiest
     man alive." (Wiganer)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1330188

"A special mention must also go to Slim, who
entered the competition a staggering One
Million times. This was my favourite:"
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1315332

  >> This Weeks Challenge <<

This week we've got a special announcement:
next Friday is board member K3rry's birthday.
He's donated some money to B3ta to fund a
free board icon for the best entry to this
week's challenge. What a nice man.

As for the challenge, Rob and Thorpe suggested
  "Celebrity Zoo"

: WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
  Follow-ups on previous stories.

RATHERGOOD WINS WEBBY - "Er... Woo... And
  inevitably yay", screaches Joel Veitch,
"I've won two webbies. Fucking shitting hell.
I'm going to jump up and down and flap my
  arms for two hours."
http://www.webbyawards.com/main/webby_awards/nominees.html

  * NICEY IN THE NEWS - Biscuits Alive! Nicey
from NiceCupOfTeaAndaSitDown is now a media
darling. The BBC reviewed his site and he was
featured on UK TV show Richard & Judy as
  Britain's foremost authority on biscuits.

: STAR IN NEXT WEEK'S ISSUE

Make something cool and tell us about it. If
you are in it then people will see your stuff.

Things we'd really like to see include

  * 15 seconds of stupid. We've made this

the newsletter without having to slave
over a hot computer for a month. C'mon,
    you can do it.

  * Real world stuff. You guys have done
us proud this week with your web things.
But remember, we also like real world
projects. Stuff you've built, videoed etc.

  * Someone blowing 120 bubbles with a live
tarantula nestled in their mouth. Rarrr.

  Send contributions to b3ta@...

BTW: If you've sent something in that hasn't
been featured then don't be put off - we

: GOOSECHASE
  Where art meets stupidity...

  Chad from Ultraville writes -

"Hey, just wanted to tell you that we've got
this movie called goosechase that we'd love for
you to include in the next newsletter."

With music from Grieg's "Peer Gynt" and
  visual nods to Disney's Fantasia, it's a
  pleasure to link to it.

: B3TA SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY
Friday 18th July 2003, London UK.

Open your diaries. Stick the date in, we're
having a party and it's gonna rock.

We're moving to a bigger location so it
shouldn't be as cramped as last time.

Please come, it's always great to meet both
  the readers and the contributors.

Flyer and map in next week's newsletter.

-------------------------------------------------

: MAN BOOBS OR LADY BOOBS
  Can you tell?

  DJOL writes -

"Since I know what a bunch of depraved, sex-mad
deviants b3tans are, I've decided to make them
all a quiz, upon which they can fixate their
  unhealthy carnal fetishes."

Yay. Nasty quiz. There's some really
revolting pictures. BTW: Did you know that
serial killer Richard Speck took female
hormones in jail, grew breasts, became the
prison bitch and made a porn film? The things
  we learn from Google. Eeek.

-------------------------------------------------

: MORE HURTY FIRE VIDEOS
  Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Remember Zyk0tik? We featured him a few weeks
  back setting himself on fire.

Well he's done it again - he's only got one
trick, but it's a good trick.

Watching made us say "fuck" and nearly fall
backwards off our chair. Don't try this at
home - unless you've turned your video camera
  on that is.

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK
Fan Art, Popcorn Vid, Spam, Elvis & Crack

  >> Crocheted Giant Bee Toy <<
  "I've made a Crocheted/Handmade Giant Bee,"
writes Heather Sullivan, "based upon the
characters in Nicey & Joel's animation."
  Yay - he's lovely.
http://www.stargazy.org/b3ta/

  >> Popcorn Video <<
Remember Hot Butter's Pop Corn song? GR££DY
does and he's made a video for it. Features blobs
  under a totalitarian regime. Pretty.
http://www.distaste.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/blob.html

  >> Revenge on Spammers <<
We all hate the Nigerian spam. Steve Thompson
does too. He arranged an appointment with
a spammer, flew to Dubai and tried to get him
arrested. "We actually got photos of the scammer
waiting at the airport," writes Steve, "I can't
believe some people are that gullible. Having
been through the process several times I can see
why: greed is the main cause." Great stuff, but
we're not sure about some of language though.
  (Coloured? Hmmm.)
http://www.craigmcateer.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/mupesa.htm

  >> Odd Elvis Song <<
"I wrote a song today," warbles Mystery Bob,
"using a stream of consciousness method - i.e.
as I played guitar I closed my eyes and sang
whatever came into my head.  One bout of bad
Flash animating later and here you go..."
Yay, we really like the singing and the
  harmonies on this. Go Bob.
http://www.mysteryaction.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/elvis.htm

  >> Things That Make Me Want To Smoke Crack <<
"I'll get into your cunting arsewanking
  newsletter," threatens Richard Crawford, "if
it's the last thing I do!" OK Richard. You're
  in. Only because we're scared.

-------------------------------------------------

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.

  >> When TV Goes Wrong <<
"This is from Friendly TV on Sky," writes
Vulga, "The sound engineer accidentally left the
microphones open during the breaks and anyone
watching could hear what the presenter (Ex QVC
host Paul Lavers) was saying to his colleagues.
Listen with joy as a mate of his calls him up to
tell him that everyone can hear."

  >> My Vasectomy <<
Men! Ever wondered what it would be like to
snip your tubes? Find out in this detailed bit
of photo journalism. Interesting but icky.
http://www.my-vasectomy.com/01-me.htm

  >> Lego Treasure Hunt <<
Martin Sears has made a puzzle/adventure game built
entirely out of Lego. Help Jim the Lego Pirate
find the hidden treasure, by solving puzzles,
exploring dungeons and meeting Lego characters.
  Visually innovative.

: B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE
Results from the Celebrity Zoo Challenge

Each week we run a competition to test your
creative skills. We set a challenge and you
open Photoshop and mess with our heads.

Last week we wanted celebrity animals for
  our zoo:
http://b3ta.com/challenge/celebrityzoo/

B3ta member K3rry was kind enough to donate
some cash to b3ta in honour of his birthday.
This weeks' winner gets a free donation icon
  thanks to K3rry's generosity.

  K3rry writes -

#1 "Stephen Hawkwing - Going to burn in hell
with the rest of us for a shop like that,
but very funny. Congratulations chap you've
     got a new icon! (antony07)
http://b3ta.com/board/1337119

#2 "Rainbow Trout - A superb pun, made me laugh,
which worried my workmates (and me actually).
     (weekendsession)
http://b3ta.com/board/1363320

#3 "Meerkat Monroe - A very well done shop with
a good pun, I know people who would..." (edovan)
http://b3ta.com/board/1339063

BTW, it's K3rry's birthday _today_, so send him
  love and happiness.

  >> This Week's Challenge <<

This week, the Challenge Dictator stepped in
again and pondered what it would be like
  "If Cats Ruled the World"
http://b3ta.com/challenge/ifcatsruledtheworld/

-------------------------------------------------

: WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
  Follow-ups on previous stories.

  * ISTHISYOU SUCCESS - IsThisYou finds photos
on the street and reunites them with their
owner. Surprisingly he has the occasional
success. "I'm dead chuffed," he writes,
    "DEAD CHUFFED."
http://www.isthisyou.co.uk/posh.html

  * NICEY INTERVIEW - You know Nicey from
    NiceCupOfTeaAndASitDown. You can't have missed
him this week, he's been in all the national
papers and on several TV shows talking up
his biscuit enthusiasm. We thought you'd like
to ask him your own questions. Add them to this
    thread on the board.
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1378672

  * HUBCAP FISH - a while back we linked to
Ptolemy's fish made from old hubcaps.
We were surprised and pleased when he turned
up on our door step with one of his
creations - a gift to say thanks. Apparently
since our link he's managed to turn his art
into a small business and made regular
appearances on TV and in magazines. Yay.
Here's some photos of our new fish.

-------------------------------------------------

: STAR IN NEXT WEEK'S ISSUE

Make something cool and tell us about it. If
you are in it then people will see your stuff.

Things we'd really like to see include

  * BANDWIDTH ANGEL - a lot of the sites fall
down when we link to them. We'd love to hear
from a hosting company that would give
    free space to our contributors.

  * GAMES - you lot haven't been making games
recently. We still like them. Get thinking.

  * TOP TIPS - We always need tips for the end
of the newsletter. Stuff that surprises us
    but also works.

  Send contributions to b3ta@...

BTW: If you've sent something in that hasn't
been featured then don't be put off - we look
  at everything you send us.

We have three new releases available this month, another CD in the
Skin Crime Archive series, The first of a series of CD's featuring
old, as well as new material from Noise legends Macronympha, and the
latest release on the Solipsism label.

Skin Crime : Eyestrain CD $12            Archive Series vol. 3
      Limited 100 copies
This CD is a reissue of the "Eyestrain" Cassette which was
released by Self Abuse Records (SAC-08) in 1995.  Two 30 minute long
tracks of Thick and Harsh noise recorded using multi-layered wall of
electronics as well as a mixture of other sounds all heavily
processed, and mixed together at a high volume into a sold wall of
noise.  Still very Raw, and primitive sounding, very Chaotic, and
abrasive.  As an added bonus, this CD also contains the two tracks
from the Skin Crime Electroshock Treatment 7", released on Self abuse
Records (SAR-7) in 1995.  As this was Skin Crime's first 7", these
two tracks where our best work up to this point, and more thought,
and editing went into there composition.

Macronympha : Live Greatest Hits 1993 CD $12            Self
Abuse/Mother Savage      Limited 100 copies.
A 10 year anniversary featuring 8 tracks that are excerpts
from Live performances that Macronympha did during 1993.  Featuring
the original line up of Joseph Roemer, Rodger Stella, and Liz Fox, a
mixture of electronics, and metal abuse.  These recordings where
collected from Macronympha's own private archives, and have never
been released before.  An interesting look at the live sound of one
of the most influential, and controversial US noise artists.

Concrete Violin : End Times CD $12      Solipsism-55      Limited 100
copies
Concrete Violin is a fairly new project, although the person
behind it has been a longtime member of the Texas noise scene as a
member of Turmoil in the Toy Box, and other projects, and he's worked
closely with Richard Ramirez, Taint, Rotten Piece, and other Texas
Noise artists.  This CD contains 10 tracks of Harsh noise recorded
between 2000 and 2003, including four excerpts from different live
performances.  A mixture of extreme electronics, with occasional
vocals, all with a crisp sound, and unique style that makes Concrete
Violin stick out.  A short sample in MP3 format can be found online
at http://www.selfabuserecords.net/media/sounds/55-concreteviolin.mp3

: BISCUIT MAN INTERVIEWED
  NiceCupOfTea spills all

Unless you're both blind and earless you'll know
that Stuart Payne is Britain's foremost expert
  in the art of biscuitry.

This week in particular his NiceCupOfTea site
has been on the BBC and all across the UK
  national press.

Last week we asked you for questions. This week
we tracked him to his gingerbread cottage and
got him tell us all the things you wanted to know.
http://www.b3ta.com/interview/nicey/

-------------------------------------------------

: MAN VS SHED
Who will be the victor in this mighty battle?

This is the big one. Put on some thrash metal
and enjoy Dan Norcott unleashing his awesome
rage on a hapless garden shed. We wanked over a
thousand copies of Gardener's World after watching
this. Grrarr. Bring on the sheds. We are ready.
http://www.monsterland.co.uk/shedpocalypse/

-------------------------------------------------

: CRAP PAINT QUIZ
Can you guess the colour from the stupid name?

  B3ta coder Cal writes -

"I was in Do-It-All a few months ago, and saw
some ridiculously-named paints. Who would want
  their room 'Bongo Jazz?'

"Who comes up with this stuff? I wondered if
it was just me, or if other people couldn't
tell what the names meant. So I made the game."

And, after some mocking laughter, it turns out we
can't tell what the names meant either. Can you?

: B3TA SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY
Friday 18th July 2003, London UK.

As promised last week, here is the flyer and
map for our second birthday party.

It's going to be fun. Make sure you come.

-------------------------------------------------

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK
Weebl, Leg Trick, Jam, Tramps & Goths

  >> Weebl rap battle <<
Weebl takes on his arch nemesis Wee Bull once
again in an exciting rap-based treat.
  Wiggedy-whack. And that's a fact. Er.
http://www.weebl.jolt.co.uk/battle.htm

  >> Fire stunt sequel <<
Last week we featured resident self-immolation
expert Zyk0tik's last exploit, but lamented his
lack of range. This morning we recieved this
link. "Hah! And b3ta said I only had 1 trick!"
crowed a bruised Zyk. Now he has two.
http://members.lycos.co.uk/zzyk0tikk/movies/legman.wmv

  >> Stunts for cash <<
Matazone is obviously a bit short this month.
A fan offered him a fiver if he'd eat a jam
sandwich with the jam on the outside. And he did.
Do you have little stunts you'd like him to pull?
Offer him cash and maybe he'll make your dream
  a reality.
http://www.matazone.co.uk/extreme-jam-sandwich-eating.html

  >> Wanking tramps <<
"Here's a new Fancy Soup," says Brian Mung.
Fantastic! "It's about wanking," he continues.
Don't worry Brian - we won't tell your mum.
http://www.brianmung.com/fancysoup8.htm

  >> Goth Girl in love <<
Matazone, sickened with jam, continues his regular
series Little Goth Girl. In this cute episode
she finds a cool thing and falls in love. Aah.
http://www.matazone.co.uk/little_goth_girl_space_hopper.html

-------------------------------------------------

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.

  >> 80s bike mag ads <<
Remember magazines? They were those floppy
papery things you used to read. Like, maybe this
morning? This is a lovely collection of adverts
that give a snapshot into the world of motorcycle
enthusiasts some 20 years ago. Great if you like
beards and tits. And we do. Cheers.
http://www.sharpeworld.com/bikers/

  >> Holiday with the A-Team <<
Any plans for your break this year? Why not try
going on a cruise hosted by Dirk Benedict? You may
remember Mr. Benedict better as smooth-talking
loverman Face from the A-Team. Or as smooth-talking
loverman Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica. Now
you can have him for your very own. But only the
best get to the captain's table.
http://www.swainworldcruises.com/benedict/index.htm

  >> John Travolta dog <<
A stunning impersonation of John Travolta's
performance in Grease by a highly-trained
labrador. We are eagerly awaiting its attempt at
Face/Off, with a cat as Nicholas Cage.
http://netcity2.web.hinet.net/UserData/jwenchin/dancers_1.wmv

  >> New Dr Who <<
Douglas Adams wrote it. Now he's dead. The BBC
animated it. They should die too. Nah - it's
good really. Woo for the Who. You'll need an
afternoon spare to enjoy the whole thing.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/shada/six/index.shtml

  >> Japanese kidnap TV  <<
Thank fuck for Japanese television - there's
always something new and weird to point at. The
latest development is kidnaping an aspiring
comedian, locking him in a bare room and only
allowing him the possessions he wins through
  entering postal competitions. Even food.
http://www3.tky.3web.ne.jp/~edjacob/nasubi.html

  >> Big tongue dog <<
The web is full of famous dogs. You've met Mr Winkle
and now it's time to meet Milo. His claim to fame
is having an extraordinarily long tongue. We
didn't believe it was true until we watched the
video. And he's almost completely hairless too.
  Mmmm. Like Gene Simmons.
http://www.milostongue.com/start.htm

  >> PC rear view mirror <<
Worried that your boss is coming up behind
you as you muck about on the internet? Simply
attach one of these to your monitor and your
troubles are over. Unless your boss is a
  vampire of course.
http://www.imate.com.au/

  >> Eliminate graphic designers <<
Got a website? Stuck for a design? Don't shell
out for a poncey designer. They'll only spend
it on strange geometric glasses. Cunts. This
little blinder will whip up a nice design for
you in a jiffy. Just keep pressing refresh
until you find one that doesn't make you vomit.
http://www.strangebanana.com/generator.aspx

-------------------------------------------------

: 15 SECONDS OF STUPID
  Short anims from b3ta people

  >> Humiliating the friendless <<
"An annoying bloke who follows us around tried
to get better friends with us by drinking warm
beer out of a full ashtray, complete with fag
  butts," gloats Jaxilaxonfire. Obviously, his
  plan failed.
http://zwn.arqz.com/flash/anti2.swf

  >> Bouncy Kylie action <<
This is my first ever Flash movie," sighs
Kamikazee Killmouse, "It was a labour of
love." Slow intro, fantastic pay-off. Woo.
http://www.zen16091.zen.co.uk/choppings/2003-06/kylie.htm

  >> Potato <<
  "Potato. Potato. Potato. Potato," writes
  Weebl, "Potato. Potato. Potato. Potato.
Potato. Potato." Yes. This is about potatoes.
http://www.weebls-stuff.com/toons/17/

: B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE
Results from the If Cats Ruled Challenge

Each week we run a competition to test your
creative skills. We set a challenge and you
open Photoshop and mess with our heads.

Last week we wanted to see what things would
be like if cats ruled the world:
http://b3ta.com/challenge/ifcatsruledtheworld/

We asked B3ta boarder 'Anno Domini Hiatus' to
judge the entries - here are his 3 faves.

  Anno Domini Hiatus writes -

#1 "Fish Machine - Fishes, paws and thruppeny-bits
     - what more could you ask for? (sosumi)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1385587

#2 "Maurice wasn't taking any chances - Awwww,
who's got little fuzzy eyebrows then? The cigar
     was the clincher. (Dai marzipan)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1407267

#3 "Bwahahahahahaha-erk! Totally summed up what
would really happen if cats ruled the Earth.
     FACT. (Agent Eddache)

  >> This Weeks Challenge <<

the suggestion, "When Baddies turn Good"
http://b3ta.com/challenge/baddies/

-------------------------------------------------

: WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

New Inspiral Carpets interview
----------

I was at the launch for the Inspiral Carpets' new Cool As album where he
interviewed singer Tom Hingley and bass player Martyn Walsh. They told him
what inspired the reunion, what will decide whether this album is their last
and also gave some insight into the relationships in the Inspirals family.

By the way, if you've got the album, try loading the DVD and pressing up and
then right to find the easter egg.

Last chance to buy journalism ebook minus VAT
----------

I've been alerted by Regnow who manage the secure credit card payment for my
ebook 'Journalism Careers - Your questions answered' that they will have to
start charging VAT from 1 July 2003. You can avoid the tax by ordering
before then. The ebook answers 64 of the most popular questions I've been
emailed over the years about getting into journalism and what it's like
working there over 106 printer- and screen-friendly pages.

The ebook costs £9.95 or US$15.95 (you can also pay in Euros and Australian
dollars) and comes with three unique bonuses:

1. Online training: If you complete any of the writing and subediting
exercises on the JournalismCareers.com site within three months, I'll offer
feedback on your work by email.

2. Answer guarantee: If you have a question that hasn't been answered in the
book, I'll answer it by email up to three months after purchase. (Please
note I cannot comment on specific courses, jobs or employers where I don't
have personal experience of them. To comment would be unfair to them and
unfair to you. One question per person and answers based on my personal
experience.)

3. Free updates: You'll be entitled to a free copy of any updates to this
ebook that are published later.

(These bonuses imply a time burden which might make them unsustainable in
the long term, so they could be withdrawn at any time. Customers who buy
before they are withdrawn will still be supported in full.)

There's also lots of free stuff on the site at JournalismCareers.com.

Get a free chapter from 'Small Business Websites That Work'
----------

As a member of this mailing list, you can now download chapter 2 of 'Small
Business Websites That Work' for free. It concerns 'Planning your website
and creating the content'. Here's the link to download the chapter as a PDF:
http://www.sean.co.uk/books/sbwtw/mcmanus_sbwtw_2.pdf

If you don't already have it, you'll need the free Acrobat Reader program to
open that file. You can download it at:
http://www.adobe.com
or you might find it's sitting on your desk on a cover CD from a computer
magazine.

Here's the summary from the end of the chapter:

Although you can outsource much of your website's development, its strategic
direction must come from within the company. There are many ways that a
website can help your company to grow, but these will depend on your
position in the marketplace and your industry. You'll need to have text,
photos and interactive website features that support your aim.

Think beyond putting your brochure online. Good content attracts visitors
and makes it easier to promote the website, but doesn't necessarily push
products. It gives readers a reason to visit the site, giving you a chance
to do business with them and fulfil your website's purpose.

Your content mix needs to be unique and well-targeted at your audience's
interests. That doesn't mean it has to be expensive: you can throw free
content and cheap plug-ins into the mix and can often draw on your own or
team members' expertise.

Everything on your website needs to be accurate and written for an
international audience.

Your website's success depends on what it has to say and how it says it, so
it's important that you articulate your goals to your website designers to
make sure that they understand not just what you're putting on your website,
but what you want that to achieve. It will improve the relevance of their
suggestions.

Its twenty-five years since Peter Saville designed the now iconic

The Factory,
FAC1 combined contemporary industrial signage with Jan Tschicholds
Die Neue Typographie. The Use Hearing Protection sign was on
a workshop door at college. I saw it everyday, and I knew that
it had to be used for something. Recognised as a classic, the newly

A note from Jello:

"Hello! I'd like to talk more about the latest ugly chapter in the
increasingly Kafka-esque DKs,Inc. nightmare, but our attorney's have me
under a strict gag order not to shoot my mouth off until the next round
of court hearings.

Meanwhile, its full speed ahead on a mid-Fall release of the long-awaited
Wesley Willis' "Greatest Hits, Volume 3" CD.
We would like your input & help in putting this new album together.

We don't think studio recordings exist of some of his more recent
classics. Does anyone out there have good live recordings of any of
these songs?:

George Bush is a Stupid Asshole
Osama Bin Laden
Michael Jackson
Look Out For The Turd Burglar
Get Your Brains Splattered
I'm Hoo Riding on You
Thou shallt Not Kill
Mothra

He also wrote an entire album abot his struggle with Leukemia. Did he
perform any of that on the last tour?

We only want these if the sound quality is good, "the rock band is
aw-some-" and Wesley is fired up.

Other hot performances and between-song monologues are welcome too. (I'd
still like to hear those early cassette tapes he sold in subway stations
in the early 90's.)

Other nominations are welcome but I'm already at a logjam of over 40
winners. Got any good photos? Wesley tattoos? (I saw 2 in one day (!) in
Denver awhile back.)

++++ Letters From People Like You +++

I am writing this letter in support of Jello in the wake of the recent
ruling against him and for the three "other" members of Dead Kennedy's.
In trying to form an unbiased opinion, I can only come to the conclusion
that this was only about money and band member's search for a 'nest
egg'. Though certain media outlets and publicists may distort the news
that is released, it is all too clear that the other three members of
Dead Kennedy's wanted nothing more than to secure their fortune pimping
their product to as many outlets as possible.

One thing about this trial that I got a good, clear look at was the fact
that the current band members of Dead Kennedy's used the law team of
Cohen & Cohen who also are in cahoots with their current record label,
Manifesto. This is enough to raise suspicion with anyone willing to read
between the lines in regards with this case. It's just too bad that
Jello got railroaded and hopefully they won't ruin his name and
reputation.

As a longtime fan of Dead Kennedy's and Jello Biafra, I am quite
disappointed that an agreement couldn't be made between the two parties
but sometimes legal means are necessary, even in punk rock.

I hope this trial and ruling doesn't affect Jello too much as far as his
current spoken-word release schedule goes. I have found him very
inspiring and look forward to purchasing any new album he may release.
I'm sure that many fans like me would be more than willing to help any
way they can with legal expenses that have occurred. I hope that this
ruling won't impact the future of Alternative Tentacles.

: GOATSE IN THE NEWSPAPERS
And they thought it was children's art

OK - this is going to take a bit of background
to explain... Goatse is possibly the foulest
image ever put on the internet: a man pulling
open his anus so wide that you could stick a
  child's head in it.

The image became famous after trolls - people
who like to wind up messageboards - started
linking to it on every board under the sun.

And that's where we come in. BoyT has painted
a version of the image, and submitted to his
local paper and got it printed. Yay.
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1471040

BTW: If you need more context then search for
goatse on google. It's really too icky for
us to link to from the newsletter.

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK
Sesame Street, Mutants, Crap Reviews & Shit tv

  >> Pinball Song/Video <<
Thorpe has made a lovely track sampling
The Pinball Song from Sesame Street. A friend
of his has made a video featuring the footage
that accompanied it on the show. It's great,
  a funky nostalgia fest.
http://www.gordyboy.net/pinballsongv3.wmv

>> Mutant animals<<
The creatures that live in HumanDescent's head
may frighten you. He's one of b3ta's most
  prolific Photoshop artists, producing bizarre
little masterpieces every single day. It's past
time his online gallery/zoo got a mention
  from us here.
http://www.humandescent.com/index2.shtml

  >> All music is shit <<
Chthonic is an angry, angry man. He's listened to
all the same music you have and he hates it. Go
on, try him out by typing in the name of a band or
record you like.  His indiscriminate bile-filled ranting
  will amuse you.
http://www.chthonicionic.net/bile/

  >> Star Wars Vs. Village People <<
Ever wondered what the storm troopers get up to on
their Saturday nights? B3ta newcomer Johnny B Goode
has made this Flash vid to show you. Apparently they
dance to dodgy old disco. Like everyone else.
http://snurl.com/1o9z

-------------------------------------------------

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.

  >> Salt maze for slugs <<
Wooooo. Perhaps the ultimate extreme sport for slugs.
Can the slug make it out alive? We would try this at
home, but frankly it's mean. Also, slugs are icky and we'd
have to get our mum to come round and help us.
http://www.livejournal.com/~theteague/8200.html

  >> Notes on the fridge <<
Ah, the joys of shared houses. A whole bunch of
strangers knowing your wanking habits. This
concerned letter will bring back those memories.
Or perhaps give you bad ideas.
http://home.pi.be/~freddes/pictures/fridge.jpg

  >> 13 PC flight sim <<
Jesus wept. This bloke likes his flight sims. He's
connected 13 monitors and 9 PCs together to get
the ultimate cockpit view. He must be single. But
imagine watching porn on it. Mmm. Cockpit.
http://members.chello.nl/~s.ferris/

-------------------------------------------------

: GENITAL CORNER
  Because we love cock

  >> Truck Testes <<
Show that you're a real man by having metal
  balls attached to your car.
http://www.bumpernuts.com/

   >> Photograph your cock <<
Lizzie is doing a comedy show in Edinburgh,
and she needs photos of your knob. In a dress.
If you've got one, and who hasn't, help her out.
Send it to her. No jeans or trainers though.
http://www.grayblog.co.uk/cockinafrock.html

  >> Scrotum Electric Shock <<
Bollocks plus massive electrical shock plus
fucking stupidity plus video camera equals ouch.
Not much more to be said about this one, really. So
a minute of silence for all the dead sperm please.

: B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE
Results from the Baddies Turned Good Challenge

Each week we run a competition to test your
creative skills. We set a challenge and you
open Photoshop and mess with our heads.

Last week we wanted baddies that had turned good:
http://b3ta.com/challenge/baddies/

We asked B3ta boarder 'sigsy' to judge the
entries - here are his 3 faves.

  Sigsy writes -

  #1 "Something's wrong with the gun's transmission -
A great idea, well executed and very funny.
     (Kerouac)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1452497

#2 "Use the... - Made me laugh with a great punchline,
nice camera pan animation as well. (Mystery Bob)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/1427857

#3 "UN Stormtroopers - Very clever, excellent definition
and the lighting/reflection is skillfully done."
     (Gabba)

  >> This Weeks Challenge <<

This week, the challenge dictator was back to give us
  the suggestion, "International Smoking Day"
http://b3ta.com/challenge/smoking/

: STAR IN NEXT WEEK'S ISSUE

Make something cool and tell us about it. If
you are in it then people will see your stuff.

Things we'd really like to see include

  * MUCKING ABOUT WITH LOCAL NEWSPAPERS - we love
this stuff. Can you compete with CCC and BoyT?

  * INTERNATIONALSWEARINGDAY.COM  - we're not
hearing enough foul language at the mo.
    Sort it out.

  * INTERVIEWS - are you famous? Get in touch.

  Send contributions to b3ta@...

BTW: If you've sent something in that hasn't
been featured then don't be put off - we look
  at everything you send us.

  TIP:

If you dye your hair and the colour stains your
hairline, simply mix up some fag ash along with
some cheap cologne. Rub this mixture on your
skin using a cotton bud and it will remove
99.9% guaranteed. (It's the carbon in the ash
and the alcohol in the cologne.)
