Quick post while I'm still awake, it's my birthday tomorrow (12th
April) and there's 3 bands well worth catching I'm putting on at
Henry's:
NED: all the way from France, and they have a song called 44, which
I really like (the song itself, and also the fact that it's called
44), you can listen to them here: http://www.myspace.com/nedskrecords
JACOB FLYNCH: you know the score probably, livingstonia madness etc,
http://www.myspace.com/jacobflynchmusic
VILAIN: a new crazy band made up of French people exiled in
Edinburgh, and they're not on Myspace so you'll have to come and
check them out for yourself.
Vilain will be on first around 9pm, and usual timings for the rest,
£4 only for you + friends (£5 otherwise), but if you just want to
briefly pop in for birthday drinks and that before or after the
bands it's still cool I'll let you in, or if you wanna see the bands
and are really really skint I can probably work out some special
deal, so ask just in case...
There will probably be a few French folk and Livi folk about but
don't let that intimidate you, they're not quite as bad as I make
it... I mean they can bite pretty easily but probably not tomorrow
cos it's my birthday and they promised to try and be nice...
Also, if you're looking for something to do tonight, I recommend the
Sebastian Fors gig at Henry's, only £2 for mailing-list members
instead of the normal £4, full details and links on the Henry's
myspace listings at http://www.myspace.com/henrysvenue in the BLOG
section, there's also tickets up for grabs for various gigs
including mrw44 gigs so get in touch if interested.
Next is Ostinato, Eunoia, and Hey Enemy on Tuesday (17th April),
more about that shortly... And for those who asked, the big
unconfirmed gig finally got confirmed, put it in your diaries right
now: Faust at the Bongo Club, Sat 9th June, more about that soon
too, and discount tickets as well...
Hopefully see you tomorrow anyway...
