Here's some more details about Skeletons and the Kings of All
Cities: Brooklyn-based freaky folk (file under Tortoise, Thee More
Shallow, Animal Collective or Xiu Xiu).
As a co-founding member of Shinkoyo records, Ohio-bred/Brooklyn-
based
Matt Mehlan retains that label's core ideals of collaboration,
experimentation, and unpredictability with his Skeletons project.
Beginning in Oberlin, Ohio as a solo act with help from an eclectic
cast of collaborators (classically-trained trombonists, punk rock
drummers, a junkyard boy's choir), Skeletons has now settled
comfortably into its adult body, having established a full-time band
[The Kings of All Cities] and an alliance with Ghostly.

About The Low Lows:
Dark psychedelic Americana on Monotreme Records, formed from the
ashes of Parker and Lily.
"Deliciously dreamy and glowing in a wonderfully understated Galaxie
500 alt.country kind of way. Walls of gentle dissonance and country
narcosis and soothing gentle caressing white noise beauty and steel
guitars and Tindersticks and Yo La Tengo and a radiantly slow
rolling panorama that makes you so sure all is right. An almost
distant sound, a stark warm caressing beautiful sound, a rather
unique and rather special sound, and blue enough to float in,
drenched in deliciously subtle reverb and gently caressing
feedback." Organ Magazine
"primitive three-part harmony abounds, and steel guitar pervades
most tracks, but these elements are incongruously trapped in an
urban lo-fi noise-rock aesthetic like insects in amber. Nostalgia-
free, doleful & intensely modern, the primitive rawness of The Low
Lows is the natural product of an anachronistic environment, worried
not at all about being out-of-step with its time. Songs progress in
stately, off-kilter, dreamlike form, slow and deliberate, building
to explosive, gospel-tinged, triumphal climaxes -- hook-laden,
foundationed on distortion & embellished by brass."
