The Livingston and District Amateur Radio Society (LaDARS) meet at the Crofthead Farm Community Education Centre, Templar Rise, Livingston, EH54 6DG every Tuesday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm. Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in radio or electronics. The membership fee is £10 and remains valid for life provided you attend the club at least once per year. The evening attendance fee is £1.50 for both members and visitors.
Members have a diverse range of interests and seek to further develop their skills and knowledge through meeting with other members of the club. The club has registered assessors and can provide training, assessments and examinations at Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced levels.
The club station MS0LIV is available for use by members and for training. HF and V/UHF radio equipment has been installed at the centre. Antennas are mounted on a 12 m mast located within the grounds. IRLP node 5310 on 430.0125 MHz is also run by the club.
The club supports the local community as an education facilitator and by attending events where demonstrations and talks are given.
