I guess I'd never thought of Star Colliding as a B Side since it's on the
expanded MC album, but I do recall hearing it on the Girl A, Girl B, Boy C
single (which I actually have on vinyl - nice to have the big sleeve artwork for
it!). The "Big Screen Soundtrack" version of Sparkle is fun; it is just lacking
the vocals, right? Ideal for MLS karaoke!

Well, I got my other Strumpet single today and yes, Welcome to My Archipelago is
a superb song, but given that almost everyone mentioned it as a favourite I
suppose it was bound to be!
Return to Emerald Green is interesting as the orchestral opening suggests the
"original" Emerald Green, but the main tune is different. Does anyone know how
the various Emerald Green songs are related or meant to be related? It seems to
be a theme/song that runs through several of the singles, into the JUT singles
too. I must say that I like both the original and the Return.

Yeah, that's it. The live version of that is superb - one of those perfect
encore songs to leave everyone with a bitter-sweet memory. I never got to see
MLS live (my friend at Warwick uni saw them several times, usually for a £1 - I
wasn't a fan then, but I wish I had been!), but I don't suppose there's any
chance of actually seeing Jake perform any of the MLS songs any more, even if
it's just with his synth backings... oh well.
