Asalamu Alaykum,

This mailing list opened February 3, 2003. It has since grown to a diverse community of converts/reverts to Islam of many nationalities. There are members of this list who became Muslim decades ago and others who are yet on the verge of making this most important decision.

The New Muslim Project International community is made of Sunnis,and Muslims who do not like to be categorized other than as "Muslim" and we strive to make this list beneficial and welcoming to all of us.

The types of messages this list is intended for include questions about Islam, conversion, practice, and beliefs; inspirational or educational Islamic messages; answers to posted with question with sources cited when possible; and general information pertinent to Muslims or converts.

The types of messages that are most often rejected for posting include messages that purposefully or inadvertently are negative or offend individuals or groups; excessive/frequent advertising; messages so complex as to overwhelm newer converts; and messages that should be addressed to individuals rather than the whole list.

Please do be an active list member and post an introduction of yourself when you are ready as well as contributions to on-going discussion and other beneficial material. This list is for you, so speak up and help make it what you need it to be.
