Newriter is a multi-genre writers’ support group for dedicated writers, non-published as well as published, between the ages of 18 and 80+.

Friendly, tolerant and humorous interaction without giving or taking offence is a prerequisite. Flak, strong language and the raising of emotive subjects are not allowed, except where these are writing-related subjects for discussion.

This is a well-established group enjoying a useful exchange of advice, information and expertise. Posting of work on the site is not allowed, but critiques can be arranged privately between individual members if so desired.

Lurking is not encouraged and all members are expected to contribute to the discussions and/or keep in touch on a regular basis. Those members who do not post at all after joining will be automatically excluded from the group. Existing members are permitted not to post on a regular basis if their reasons are genuine, i.e. pressure of work, home difficulties etc., In which case, we ask for the occasional message (averaging one message a month) to keep your membership alive. Social chat is welcomed, as long as it doesn’t happen to the exclusion of writing matters. Private matters between two or more members should be conducted off-list.

Any member not conforming to the group rules will be given a warning or, in the case of particularly inacceptable behaviour, a ban from the list at the discretion of the List Owner.
