6/7 September: Combined Nitrox in Moray organised by Tony Allen

This is a two day course designed to introduce divers to dive
planning and practical skills required when diving and decompressing
using enriched Nitrox mixtures, and includes two open water dives.
The course combines BSAC Nitrox Diver and Advanced Nitrox Diver
theory. The course is open to BSAC Sports Diver or similar + 20
additional dives and has a registration fee of £38 + regional costs.

6/7 September: Chartwork and Position Fixing in Tayside organised by

This is a two day course designed to instruct members in the basic
techniques of marine navigation to a level which will help them as
active divers in planning and managing dives undertaken by a typical
BSAC Branch. This course is open to all and has a registration fee of
£16 + regional costs. Please note for Dive Leader and Advanced Diver
trainees that the course comprehensively covers the requirements of
Dive Leader lesson LT7 and is a training option for BSAC Advanced
Diver.

This two day course is designed to give students with little or no
boat handling knowledge or experience, instruction in small boat
handling, including techniques relevant to diving, and related safety
knowledge, the equipment they should carry and a knowledge of
seamanship, tides and weather which govern their safe use. The course
syllabus is recognised training for the BSAC Diver Cox'n Certificate.
This is one of the optional courses for BSAC Advanced Diver
qualification. The course is open to all and has a registration fee
of £31 plus regional costs.

This is a half-day assessment that aims to assess a candidate's
practical boat handling skills, and the underpinning knowledge
related to the general handling of small boats and to diving specific
boat handling activities. Candidates should either have completed the
BSAC Boat Handling Course, or equivalent and have accumulated at
least 5 hours boat handling experience since completing the course OR
have at least 20 hours substantiated/logged boat handling experience.
The course is open to any BSAC member over 16 and has a registration
fee of £31 plus regional costs.

13/14 September: Dive Planning and Management in Aberdeen organised

This is a two day course open to experienced Sports Divers and above.
The course aims to teach divers the importance of Dive Planning and
Marshalling, and the correct procedures for doing so; and the need
for a suitably qualified and experienced person to perform the
function. The course also gives divers practical experience of dive
marshalling. The course has a registration fee of £16 plus regional
costs.

20/21 September: Extended Range Diver in Lochaline organised by Sarah

This is a three day course* that is open to BSAC Sport Diver + 20
dives with BSAC Advanced Nitrox Diver qualification (or equivalent
Nitrox qualification from another agency). *Please note that the
course will run for two days and the third day will be an assessment
on a date agreed with the Organiser.
The Extended Range Diver course is a three-day course that promotes
efficient, successful and safe deeper diving techniques, and to
encourage a responsible and flexible approach to extended range
diving. It also identifies potential problems and provides a resource
of ideas for their practical management and resolution.
The course has a registration fee of £31 plus regional costs.
