2005 what happened to the f12006 plan   Message List

My plans for this year?
What a question .
To answer that question I need to review last year.
After blowing the engine on the F1 at Donnington it has a long story
regarding getting all the engine internal work done.
After engine striped saw damage to rotor and end plate, intermediate
plate etc.
The source of the failure was down to bits of the rotor bearing
lodging in the stationary gear.
The engine stops instantaneously when bits of bearing lodge in
stationary gear.
Just before the engine went bang it did get Quieter so the lesson is to
stop if your little rattle goes away it hasn't mended itself.
Any how the bike is now in bits getting a rebuild.
When the bike is back together I will try to run it where I can this
will probably be track days rather than races.

... Very sorry for the loss. Is there any indication of what blew up first? First suspect would be a cage, but... Has anyone at the Norton office looked at it?...
