Ciao Huw,
Hope you well. I finally bought Martin's RCW. The bike it is much
better than I was thinking, and very much close to a full original
RCW. Its frame (no.SPE-NOR/A/347)is the very first RC works frame
done by Spondon for Brian Crighton back in 1987. In this early form,
still fitted with the air cooled RC engine, this bike obtained the
first rotary podium for Norton with Malcolm Heat at Darley Moor in
1987. Then a full race RCW engine was fitted (no.3) and a full RCW
fairing with JPS colours was added. I obtained the story of the bike
from Dave Evans himself, so no doubts about it.
I am just doimg some little routine checks on it, and I just fitted
two new slicks. I plan to use it at Mallory Park for the "Post TT"
event on June 8, where there will be a big JPS ex-works bike and
pilots reunion. If you'll be around will be a pleasure to see you
again.

Ciao

Mauro
