Huw

Following your email the other day, the situation still remains as
per my email of 8 July.

In answer to your questions – the Committee agreed, after considering
all entries, based on last year's speeds during the Senior race, the
Norton would not be a competitive machine for the race this year.

Phil Archer has not officially withdrawn from the MGP and has only
entered the Junior and Lwt. Even if he had withdrawn from the
correct class we could only substitute a rider if the original rider
has a licensed entrant which Phil Archer has not. However even with
a licensed entrant there are other factors we take into account when
substituting a rider, eg suitability of riding no. & machine of
original rider

Sorry Huw but there is nothing more I can add to the above.

Regards

Caroline
