If you want to see full sized pics do NOT click on 'New Photos' in the group's activity summary. If you do, you will only get thumbnail-sized pictures. Instead, click on 'Photos' in the menu on the left of the front page, then on 'Last Modified', then on the album you want and the thumbnail that interests you, and finally on 'Original' to view the picture in its largest format.
