Cassini (Delamere) Co-ordinate <> National Grid Co-ordinate: convert   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1465 of 3318 |
Hi all,

Would anyone be interested in a little PC program I'm developing, to
convert between:
- OSGB36 National Grid co-ordinates (metres)
- Lat/Long co-ordinates (Airy Spheroid (1830))
- Cassini (Delamere) co-ordinates (feet)

It all stems from me wanting one to work out the sheet corners of the
1" series based on the Cassini projection (origin Delamere) in terms
of the modern-day National Grid. I searched for a converter on the
web but couldn't find a freebie bit of software, so I developed my
own!

It's only in advanced prototype stage at the moment, but it works
damn well - accurate to within about 0.2 metres or 0.5 feet. I just
thought I'd see how much interest there is - if there seems to be a
market for it, I'll make it look a bit nicer and publish it for free
on a website somewhere.
