Two possibilities occur to me:

1. See if you can get in touch with the local office of O.S. - the
one which is the nominal base of the surveyors who do the updating of
local detail. They would know when the topograpgic point of interest
was last revised.

2. Your local authority will have an OS liaison officer who may have
some information as to the updating process.

The OS website has information on Mastermap:

http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/products/osmastermap/

- that relating to the topography layer suggests that updating is
frequent, in the sense that revised data is supplied to customers
frequently. Whether it includes your particular point of interest is
another matter. All things considered I would try and speak to one of
the surveyors.

I have knowledge of a couple of cases in my area where a current
survey by non-OS personnel revealed significant differences in field
boundaries as compared to the latest Mastermap. This was in rural
areas where the boundaries may not have been resurveyed for many
years.
