This day of discussions and displays includes:
* Andrew Cook on ‘The Training of East India Company Surveyors’
* Rob Wheeler on ‘Arnhem 1944: were the maps good enough’, illustrated
with examples from NLS collection
* Chris Board on his latest researches into South African mapping
* Chris Fleet and John Davies on indexing and displaying maps on-line
* exhibition of items from the Bartholomew Archive at NLS
The highlight of the day, however, will be the launch, by its authors,
Richard Oliver and Roger Hellyer, of our latest publication, ‘One-inch
engraved maps of the Ordnance Survey from 1847’.

The day follows a three-day event of the Map Curators Group of British
Cartographic Society at NLS, with talks, workshops, outings and a social
event on Wednesday 9th to Friday 11th. CCS members are invited to join
all or part of this, for which a fee is payable. For information and
