The Antiquarian Booksellers Association has put out an alert for some stolen
map books.

Subject: Book and Map security message from the ABA

The following map books were stolen in a burglary of a private house on or
about 16th December.
 
1.  Notes on GSGS Maps of France Belgium and Holland December 1943,
foolscap size, hard covers decorated front and back with map of the area
covered, pale blue cloth spine.
 
2.  Notes on GSGS Maps of Germany Denmark and Central Europe March
1944,  foolscap size, hard covers decorated front and back with map of the
area covered, red cloth spine, back cover with pocket and appendices.     
 
3. Notes on GSGS Maps of Italy Sicily Sardinia and Corsica 1st May 1943,
foolscap size, hard covers, decorated front and back with map of area
covered, yellow cloth spine, back cover with pocket and appendices.
 
4. Notes on Maps of the Balkans 1944, foolscap size, soft covers, decorated
front and back with map of the area covered, back cover with pocket and
appendices.
 
Also a post war publication Catalogue of Maps Published by the
Geographical Section General Staff Price 5/- Provisional Edition 1952.
Foolscap size limp grey card covers, type written roneoed text, fold out
coloured charts.
 
Also Volumes 3 and 4 of  INVADE MECUM.
British  Intelligence Officers compendiums produced for D-Day.
Approximately 8-9 inches square, covers decorated with maps of the area
covered, brown cloth spines, with INVADE MECUM printed in black, Vol
3 and Vol 4.
Contents with individual pamphlets, loose leaf punched and held into covers
by laces. Volume 4 covers the Normandy Beaches and Cherbourg Peninsula
and  has 9 parts, Volume 3 covers further up the coast and inland, Pas de
Calais, Sommes etc and has 5 parts.
