Hey guys, I am a huge Otis lee Crenshaw and the Black Liars fan. I
have seen them on comedy central many times. The problem is here in
America I cannont find there CDs I have looked and looked and I would
love to have there two albums on my i-pod to listien to. I was
wondering if any of you could help me locate this albums or if anyone
has any ideas of how i can get them? I dont know if you can e-mail
sound files but if anyone knows and would be willing to do it I would
greatly appreciate it.
thanks
Rich is due to be on Richard Bacon's XFM show next Friday (19th).
Bill Bailey was on it last week and, despite the fact that I
publicised it on my BB site, I forgot to listen. Might have to set
the Sky+ for Rich Hall before I forget.
Hello everyone,
Just dropping by to tell you about... stuff.
A review of the London Show can be found at
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/printFriendly/0,,1-245-1351167,00.html
with a little mention of Myron, which is nice. Echoes my sentiments
exactly, aside from the bit at the bottom regarding Boothby who in
my opinion (and the rest of the audience's) was really on a roll on
the night. Enough so to do an improvised set about the blues on
stage with his guitar alongside Otis and Myron, which just looked
fun!
Anyway, what's happening? Well, not that much actually, I'm afraid.
Rich isn't doing that much stage-wise, although there is a rumoured
second BBC4 show in the pipeline (probably not based on fishing
though, but a similar format). As for any Black Liars goings on,
once again there's not much to say. They never know until Rich gets
in touch so it's really all down to him who plays at he gigs and who
doesn't. But ever say never, and all that!
If you want to see more of Myron, however, he'll be playing in
Boothby's show on the 18th November in Hayes (the Middlesex one) and
he will be joining Otis again for a to-be-confirmed show in Dublin
in December. If I find out an actual date, I'll let you know.
Hope everythings well with y'all,
Lu x
Many Thanks for this information
Regards
Jacquie

BBC7 played Rich Hall "Talking Comedy" this morning. It'll be
available on Listen Again soon, and is repeated tonight, I think. To
my barely stifled delight, he spends quite some time singing the
praises of the brilliant Sean Lock. Something gratifying about the
fact that he enjoys Lock for the same reasons I do.
Hello everyone,
Is anyone going to the London show on the 8th? I think the multi-
purpose confederacy flag will be making a return (by popular demand,
obviously) so I'll be fairly easy to spot, but it'd be nice to know
if I should be looking out for anyone!

As I know people are on the lookout for this one...
Friday 29th October, BBC4 11pm. With a nice piccy in the TV guide
thing that comes with the Mail on Sunday (most amusing newspaper).
Happy watching,

It's a paper version, I'm afraid! It's the listings mag that comes
with the Evening Argus on a Friday. I was going to put it up on the
Threadbare website when I get a mo, so you can see it then... ;-)

Get Christian up to do a set. He does stand-up. I can give Spider
his number :-)

I think there's something about it at www.offthekerb.co.uk It sounds
like an Otis biography type thing. I think I put up the blurb from
the advertising in Edinburgh on this board a little while ago. That's
all I know anyway, but I'll be reading it when it comes out, the same
week as the London show.
I'm sure there'll be a tour soon. There must be. There hasn't been one
for a while. You just hang in there, girl.
Lu x
Hi Natasha,
I was sorry to read you think nobody up there has a sense of
humour, maybe you just haven't found the right places. Manchester is
rife with excellent comedy clubs and while you may not see OLC & the
Black Liars (don't feel left out, none of us are seeing them at the
mo) there are lots of very entertaining acts indeed up there. I'm
actually planning to move up there myself fairly soon. I'm not sure
about Stockport specifically since I'm not familiar with it but it's
only a short trip to Manchester. May I highly recommend Tuesday
nights at Bar XS in Fallowfield (AKA XS Malarkey) for a quality
night out.

That's the limit of my knowledge as well. I'm hopeful that the "and
friends" might include some of the boys but haven't even heard a
rumour of that one.
Re the Novalounge radio recordings - can whoever wants to go get in
touch with me ASAP by mail to high@... cos I really need
to let Christian know how many tickets we need.

Hello Natasha,
Firstly, commiserations on your relocation to Stockport. Secondly, as
far as I know the only live dates coming up are the Radio recordings
(for Novalounge) and the book and London Comedy Store date (for Otis
and Myron). I personally don't know of anything else, but the
Priestess and I try and keep this up to date, so do keep checking!

Okay shall we say the 26th - mail me at the usual place to say how
many tickets you want I'll give Orson a bell and see if he can pull
us any strings. I think with radio shows they give out more tickets
than they can seat to make sure it's full but I don't fancy coming
all the way up from Brighton from work to find I can't get in.

The show is based on the Edinburgh show, with Myron backing and not
the whole band. Aside from that hour's worth, the content and the
guests still remain a mystery I'm afraid!

Thanks for the spelling help! Don't bother checking the schedules,
I'll have a look around. That's what I'm here for. I really have
nothing else to do!
Ho hum.........
Right, according to Off The Kerb it's being recorded in October
sometime (oh christ, it's October already, isn't it? where did the
summer go?) and will be broadcast 'just before' the elections.
Voting day is 2nd Nov (methinks) so my guess is sometime around the
beginning of November. I can't find the listings on the Radio Times
website, but the fishing show is being repeated tonight if anyone's
interested!

It's "bear", but I agree it looks wrong whichever way.
Any idea what's happening with Rich Hall's US Election programme on
BBC4? I haven't checked the schedules yet, mind. I should just do
that and find out for myself, shouldn't I? Yes. Apologies.
Hello all,
Completely by chance, I've just found out that Rich is bringing
Otis 'and Friends' to London's Comedy Store on November 8th. This
isn't mentioned on the Off The Kerb site, and as far as I can tell
you can only find out more by clicking the 'special events' link at
www.thecomedystore.co.uk
Booking is through ticketmaster, but there isn't a link to that from
the Store's site, you have to search for yourself!
Let me know if you're going. I'm certainly going to try and get
myself there, and it'd be nice to see you!
Lu x
p.s. The 'friends' part isn't very specific, I know. I'm trying to
find out who these friends might be. Bear with me!
p.p.s I've spent a long time sitting here agonising over the
spelling of bear/bare. Neither looks right. If anyone wants to put
me out of my mysery please do. I obviously need some more sleep...

it up to you (shirking all responsibility. Hehehe)

I definitely can't do the 19th but all the others are fine as far as
I know. Might get in touch with Christian to see if he can wangle
us tickets - they often give out more tickets than they can seat to
make sure they get enough audience members - however, he may be able
to ensure we get in without having to get there early and queue.
Not sure. Will find out.

Ah! My internet has been a little erratic lately, so I haven't seen
any of these messages! Anyway, I can do all of those Tuesdays (yes,
including tonight) so let me know when, and whether we're getting out
own tickets or doing a group booking.

p.s It's also fairly easy to get to Malet St from Euston mainline and
tube station.

I do know that Damian did the music for the video at the start of
last year's show - the Radioactive Kung Fu Fridge Boy and Monkey
Slayer one. Funnily enough I also know the guy who animates
his "turn off your mobile" messages.
'tess
On Ross Noble's website (www.rossnoble.co.uk) on the
biography page it plays a song that Damien performed.
Does anyone know any more about this?
