Dear Chris,

Yes we have the number of the taxi; it was noted by my wife and another
witness. The police at St Aldates confirmed the registration number was for
a 'blue car' but wouldn't go further without the cyclists' complaint. We
presume the Licensing Authority might go further but the cyclists' complaint
would be the most effective. The taxi driver swore at my wife for taking an
interest!

That's ridiculous. If there are a number of witnesses to an assault or an incident of dangerous driving you don't need the evidence of the victim as well, nice...
