Hi Kathy,

Well to be a bit more specific...
I wanted to see the film on the basis of the trailer and the signs
website (which is actually very good and worth checking out- just do
an internet search on 'signs the movie).

and on reflection
the film does build up the tension with some nice little twists and
turns
you don't see much but just enough to get you jumping in your seat
(and quite a few jumps were detected in the picture house!!)

but sadly
the end plot just fell abysmally flat on it's face.
it's like the script writers suddenly said 'well we are now overbudget
so let's wrap it up any old way'

and that's exactly what they did.

I think H.G. Well's 'War of the Worlds' knocks alot of this type of
film genre for six. Actually this could be a much better film
re-done. The technology is there to do it!!!


I think if you want to see a good alien contact film see 'INTRUDERS'.
Much more scarier!!!
Mind you 'The Mothman prophecies' was not all that bad either!
Actually much better than the book, which I found very hard to
swallow.
