Sorry about that, Joanne! Anyway, I was just reading the account in
Gaddis' book again, and it is interesting to say the least. I am
struck by one thing in particular: the storm supposedly reported in
the log book. Strictly localized, but very violent storms have been
reported elsewhere, as well, so they are by no means unheard of. I
am thinking of one instance, here in the USA, where just one city
block was lashed with a storm of incredible power, but the next
block had clear weather. This story can be found in the book The
Black Hope Horror, which tells the story of a housing developement
that was built over an antebellum slave graveyard near Houston,
Texas. If this story is true, then it would seem as though the
residents of the cemetery did not take kindly to being disturbed.
Back to the Flannan Islands, however. I have no idea whether or not
visitors on Eilean More are permitted. I would love to see the
island myself, but it is a bit far for me to go as I live in
Kansas. Maybe one of these days, when I retire.
If in your researches, you are able to find out anything further
about the log book, please let me (and the group)know. Same thing
if you are able to obtain permission to visit Eilean More. Good
luck!!

spine. I would love to go to the island and check it out, are people
allowed to go there, or do locals warn people off?
