Hi,
following is the last update of the CISU case history file project.
The number of UFO reports in Italy fell slightly in Dec 2005:
29 reports are known as at Jan 09th, 2006, slightly more than
usual compared with the first available December update of the
previous years.
About half reports look caused by meteors and other conventional
causes.
In Palermo, Sicily, a couple saw a bright red light with two blue
trails; in Siena, Tuscany, one witness saw two white lights
wandering fast in the sky.
The seasonally adjusted (s.a.) data of December highlights a
stable number (38) of reports compared to November; the seasonal
effect estimate for December is -9 (i.e. there is a tendency in
December to record less reports than usual, so that the actual
number of reports (29) is lower than the seasonally adjusted figure).
Looking at the number of events (which should be lower than or equal
to the number of reports, as several reports could refer to the
same UFO event, as in the case of fireballs), the s.a data is 37,
which compares with to 32 in November 05 and 30 in December 04.
The 2005 grand total rose from 693 to 741 reports. The November
total increased from 31 to 38.
