Hi,
following is the last update of the CISU case history file project.
The number of UFO reports in Italy rose in May 2006: 50 reports
are known as at Jun 10th, 2006, vs 31 occurred in April.
Unfortunately, many of them (23) are only crop circles, most
of them naturally occurred. As for the remaining reports, they
are mostly lights as usual.
Near Bergamo, an arrow-shaped light has been observed by an amateur
astronomer: it stopped suddenly and then disappeared quickly.
In Rome, an half-moon object was at first still in the sky, then
disappeared suddenly and re-appeared a few seconds later elsewhere.
The seasonally adjusted (s.a.) data of May shows an increase of
reports (53) compared to April; the seasonal effect estimate for
the month is -3 (i.e. there is a tendency to record slightly less
reports than usual, so that the actual number of reports (50) is
lower than the seasonally adjusted figure).
As for the number of events (which should be lower than or equal
to the number of reports, as several reports could refer to the
same UFO event, as in the case of fireballs), the s.a. data is
42, which compares to 35 in Apr 06 and 37 in May 05.
June should see a further increase of reports as the seasonal
effect turns positive.
The 2006 grand total rose to 185 reports. The April 2006
total increased from 25 to 31.
