following is the last update of the CISU case history file project.

The number of UFO reports in Italy fell in June: 43 reports
are known as at Jul 10th, 2006, vs 50 occurred in May.
Unfortunately, many of them (20) are once again only crop circles.
As for the remaining reports, they are mostly lights as usual.
A sighting more complex than usual involved just a crop circle:
a farmer near Turin heard a strange sound and then saw a "cloud"
of white smoke rising from the ground where later he found the
crop circles. While observing the "cloud", he smelled also a
strange odour.

The seasonally adjusted (s.a.) data of June shows a sharp fall of
reports (33) compared to May; the seasonal effect estimate for
the month is +10 (i.e. there is a tendency to record more reports
than usual, so that the actual number of reports (43) is higher
than the seasonally adjusted figure).
As for the number of events (which should be lower than or equal
to the number of reports, as several reports could refer to the
same UFO event, as in the case of fireballs), the s.a. data is
17, which compares to 46 in May 06 and 37 in Jun 05.
July should see an increase of reports as the seasonal effect
strengthens.

The 2006 grand total rose to 225 reports. The May 2006
total increased from 50 to 52.
