following is the last update of the CISU case history file
project.

The number of UFO reports in Italy rose strongly in October: 123
reports are known as at Nov 09th, 2006, vs 25 occurred in October.
This is mainly due to some big meteors that generated about 70
reports. Overall, almost 90 reports were caused by big and small
meteors.
This is the highest number of reports ever recorded in October
since 2000, however none of them seems interesting enough; the
strangest happened near Messina (Sicily), where a woman observed
for about ten minutes a kind of bright cloud, changing shape and
luminosity.

The seasonally adjusted data confirm the strong increase: 124.6
reports s.a., compared to almost zero in September. As for the
number of events, it increased as well from 7 in September to
50 in October. It seems that the media coverage of some big
meteors brought also more reports related to proper UFO sightings.

The 2006 grand total rose to 488 reports. The September 2006
total increased from 15 to 25.
