January 2008 update

The number of UFO reports in Italy rose in January: 38
reports are known as at Feb 08th, compared to 31 for
December.
Several reports, however, related to objects recorded
on pictures or videos without eyewitnesses.
In southern Italy a policeman observed a triangular-
shaped object for some seconds: the object was moving
like a "pendulum" towards the ground, disappearing
behind a nearby hill.

In seasonally adjusted terms, January saw an increase on
the previous month (47.6 reports s.a., compared to 42.4
in December) and the previous year (21.1 in Jan-07).
All the timeseries are above the "wave" threshold set
after the December update, except for the main series
(ie. all the reports received) which is still below that
threshold.

The 2007 grand total rose to 760 reports. The December 2007
total increased from 31 to 37.
